there is silverado trail. so you get an idea here of the location between soda canyon road and the silverado trail. i'll point it out to you along this line, right about here. there is silverado trail. just as we back these out and tint them, you can get the idea of the terrain. this introduces another element, because you not only have the wind direction, you have these valleys and the funneling effect, and with that, the wind can accelerate, and that can cause more problems for the fire crews in the short term. once again, a red flag warning in effect for the north bay, the east bay, and the santa cruz mountains. so fire danger for a good portion of the bay area. these are actually closer to sea level, santa rosa, napa, and fairfield. you can see winds gusting to 29, 38, and 47 miles per hour. and -- 47 miles per hour, and -- 41 miles per hour, and these winds could pick up as we go into monday morning. >> it is turning into a very serious out in here, and with those winds, you don't see them calming down at

and that seems to be the theme here in silverardo -- silverado. i was in the neighborhood off the richie and hagan road where there was an incredible amount of homes burned down, damaged. i was actually even at one home that has its own vineyard, and the fire had burned a u-shape around this home and they were lucky because of their space and the fact their vineyards were well man -- it never actually made it to their house. i have seen fire crews coming up and down this road all afternoon. all morning trying to see what homes they can try and save, where they could make sure residents weren't in any danger. but it has been a pretty chaotic scene as you come back live, you can see one of the fire trucks here heading up to go check, probably on the home that had burned down up there. there was a couple next to it that also had started to burn, but were either in danger. it's a chaotic scene in silverado country club and i'm sure all the people sitting at the evacuation centers are wondering if their homes are still standing or not, and it is sad to

you can see silverado country club right here. everything in red is vegetation. some of the trees that didn't burn and these are the fairways. right here atlas peak road. up here on the ridge homes burned. you can't tell you about you have a map. you can zero in and go into the neighborhoods and check out how random the fire burned. you can see here on west gate we have a home down, gone, gone, gone. but across the street, look at that, this home didn't go down whatsoever. but it gives people who were evacuated a chance to go on to this map and find out if their home is still standing. and if not, at least they get a little bit of closure. also, it's good for the county and authorities to get a good idea of what has happened. by the way, in the fire zone, so if we squeeze it down quite a bit, i mean, you can go through all of napa county and all of sonoma county. so it's a really useful tool that authorities and homeowners are using to see what happened this week. if you would like to check out the link, we have posted it at our website, ktvu.com. you can see it
