. >>> time now for business, and for that let's bring in cnbc's silvia amaro who joins us live from londonrning, silvia. so donald trump's decisive victory in the u.s. election is driving gains in the global markets and wall street really took off yesterday. how are things looking this morning? >> well, a very good morning, john. indeed at this stage futures suggest we could see a positive start for wall street this morning as well after what was a very strong session on wednesday. we saw the dow, the s&p, the nasdaq all of them hitting fresh record highs during the session, and even for the smaller and medium caps, the russell 2k index also ended the session up almost 6%, so we saw strong gains across the board. however, today the focus seems to be shifting really away from politics, and investors seem to be turning their attention to really monetary policy. we're going to hear from the federal reserve later today. on top of that initial jobless claims as well as consumer credit figures are also due to be released, so plenty to monitor, john. >> as you just mentioned, investors are lookin
