abc's simon mcgregor-wood has an update from london. good morning to you both. the extra police presence you referred to, 16,000 men and women on t t streets of london last night. similar levels of policing in all of the big cities seems to have worked. huge sense of relief to the people in uk waking up this morning, no repeats of the violence we've seen in the previous four nights. tensions certainly, including in the city of birmingham, where early yesterday morning, three young asian men, muslims, were run down and killed by a car, extreme tensions in that city, there's been a candlelight vigil outside of their house overnight. police are very concerned to try to calm those tensions. sewhere, the clear-up has cocoinued, led by the public services, but also this reaction of people in the communities themselves, coming out on to the streets with the brooms, trying to clear things up. another interesting phphomenon is the operation of the courts overnight. hundreds of these young rioters have been pushed through the system. members of t

megyn: simon, let me tell you a couple numbers. it's one in ten immediate side employers expect to stop offering healthcare. another 20% said they are unsure what they are going to do. to what extent simon do you think these are ticked off employers who don't like the law, when given a survey say, no i'm ending the whole thing, but when push comes to shove they are not going to do it. >> i don't think we know what is going to happen. we do know way too many people in the united state today don't have health insurance. healthcare is too expensive for everybody. it's going up too much now. it's going to cut cost in healthcare. megyn: this is talking points in support of the law. the employers are going to start cutting our healthcare coverage, people will start getting upset. >> there are a lot of employers that don't offer health insurance now and these are people that are just uninsured. the point is that we made a decision as a country to go ahead with this new healthcare plan several years ago. >> no we didn't. >> which is going

simon what do you have? >> willie, i wish i had better news.ay we had last week. looking at 230 points on the dow jones industrial in the open. the weekly jobless come through. 408,000 people trying for benefits last week, up 9,000. another great sign, but the far bigger issue is this which is a note that's come out from morgan stanley downgrading world growth this year and next year. saying that the united states and european union are now dangerously close to recession. they don't believe that in that is the scenario, saying there are other reasons why that might not happen. if we get another shock, it clearly could push us over. more importantly in some people's eyes, we heard in "the journal," asking european banks to rely on access funding in the u.s. markets on a day-to-day basis, that the fed here in new york is very concerned. "very concerned" about banks funding problems with the debt crisis. so slowing growth, obviously, stocks might go. that's why the stock market will fall and we are halted by the same argument of last week. because
