simon yeah simon take us through these results we can see that the the big parties have at the last at least had to say to each what does this all mean yeah i mean according to those latest numbers almost eleven percent for both the two big parties and those goals of the parties that are members of angela merkel's government lames you know it's a bad news for them essentially you can say of course this is a regional election and many voters will have voted on regional issues but many will have wanted to send that message that they don't really believe that the sort of sense less center right coalition that mangal america leads is the right one the other things pick out here the big surge of the green vote they're increasingly looking like you know almost the major left left of center force in german politics the other thing the far right and the immigration policy now represented in every single one of the sixteen regional parliament around germany as well of course as in the national parliament in berlin the right side and so on a great current policy is the general secretary the c.d.u. she spoken is have a listen to what she had to say. i on this list seems to me we can already draw some conclusions it's been painful for the c.d.u. we've lost a lot of votes but also that full could do for a friend who has to have achieved their goal for this election that's all the problems that the government in berlin has had over recent months you know it's been a year since the national election the result was nice mishmash coalition which the country seen before wasn't perhaps terribly impressed with it you might say well why didn't they vote some other different way but you know of course people don't vote for coalitions they just end up with them after elections that are inconclusive and this government hasn't really been able to get its act together it's been caught up in a lot of internal squabbling it's been troubled by scandals and a failure to act in a sense that things are going forward and also an increasing sense that angle americal time is coming to an end many within their own party are indicating that that lady you just saw there the general secretary of the party actually a loyalist medical supporter that she might be one of the potential successors to follow in due course ok so we've also heard from the s.p.d. its leader and spoke moments let's listen to what she had to say. politics at a federal level contributed a lot to our losses and has a and there are two reasons for that first something has to change in the s.p.d. . we have a lot of work ahead of us. we have to make it clear where we differ from the work of the government so i wouldn't second the condition of a government is unacceptable we expect the conservatives to draw the consequences and resolve their political and personal differences as quickly as possible. ok so tough with some knowledge there but could this result in the potentially leaving the coalition with michael yeah i mean i think it will concentrate the pressure. to do that in the of the diandra knowledge was saying no way and let's not lose our heads if there's a bad result in has a well now it's happened and i think she's probably taking some phone calls to say look we've got to change something and go to change it pretty soon the party is indicating tonight that they're possibly going to sort of set some demands in clear . conditions that they want the government to fulfill the government that they're part of to fulfill so that they can say look we are the s.p.d.m. government we get these results we work for people if they don't get some results they can sell the vote is this party is going to continue its decline from one of the sort of great causes of german politics into really almost a marginal phenomenon sam and before we wrap this up i want to ask you this be talking about the a if represented in every part of it in the country at this stage . are we looking at an unstoppable rise of this party well i think that's what we have seen as i say they've now the now representative around the country they're not some sort of east german marginal phenomenon they're they are they have come to power. rather they're represented in the parliament they're not in power anywhere because they're regarded as you know no one else will do a coalition with them so they're sort of you know treated with kept it kept a distance by the other parties nonetheless they are there and they've tapped into a lot of. you know anger and bad feeling about the
