he's live from simpson ballfield in alexandria where this unfolded. tom, this was a stunning attack in the quiet neighborhood of dell ray. walk us through what happened. >> reporter: out of the blue, this morning, tony at about seven minutes after 7:00, congressional members that were taking part in the republican team for the congressional ballgame scheduled for tomorrow night at nates park were in the middle of practice. senator jeff flake telling us that he had just come from batting, turned around and heard somebody yell gun. he and others then dove for cover. "eyewitness news"s telling gun battle went on between capitol police and the subject, james hodgkinson for at least ten minutes. some people reporting hearing as many as 100 shots fired. the fbi tonight relating not only the image of their suspect, james hodgkinson who was shot and killed here today, but as well as asking for information, just about 30 minutes ago, the fbi special agent in charge of the washington field office, special agent tim slater held a news briefing today. he would no
