the skaggs springs area in and around that fire. but you can see overall those winds now have moved up quite a bit, almost 20 miles an hour just to the north. and so you get winds like that on active fire. you can spread that fire and of course, blow those rt more fires along that point. a lot of that smoke beginning to filter back in toward the saint rose area. healdsburg those areas likely to smell more. that smoke as the winds pick up this evening. latest forecast model showing some of these gusts even stronger as we head through the evening hours. here we go as we taku through the night tonight, e good news is the models now want to back the winds off as we head through the night. get to 10 o'clock tonight. still some gusty winds but starting to back off just a little bit. that trend takes us overnight tonight into early tomorrow morning with the winds really begin to calm down quite a bit. that would be great news for firefighters that are fighting that fire now by tomorrow afternoon. that changes again. we'll see more of a wes

let's get a look at the location of where that fire started near skaggs and skaggs spring road. and at that time we had winds that were gusting 20 to 30mph. and then taking a look at the current conditions, the temperature has come down to 53 degrees. the relative humidity is at 66. that relative humidity is a very important number at this time of day, because the higher that number is, the slower the fire tends to spread. all of that humidity in the air keeps the fire from spreading so rapidly. and we're getting a light wind at this time. but it may pick up as we go throughout today. so we are still going to have a red flag warning. that means that there will be ripe conditions for fires that do spark start to spread quickly. the low humidity, as well as winds that could pick up 15 to 35mph will elevate that fire danger. as far as the smoke, as of right now, it's staying locally in parts of the north bay, but will be spreading into the east bay as we go into this evening, so we'll continue to monitor our air quality. there may be times when we may want to limit our time outside

it's a skaggs springs. so a fairly light right now. we'd like that. and we like the moisture content in the atmosphere that has really been helping the firefighters to slow down fire creep. but we're going to see the winds again overnight tonight began to subside. only return, but it's going to be a westerly component again. but probably been a little more shallow, not as strong as it's been. we've got a big ridge of high pressure building in overhead. and so we're not going to see that strong sea breeze tomorrow. that's where those places inland are going to stay hot. they're quality. the good news is a really not all that baat youan seea little haze in the atmosphere. but overall, a lot of green out there as far as our sensors are concerned. only couple of spots there in marin. also the santa clara valley. look some haze out there right now. tomorrow, i think a decent day. but you can see a couple spots in the east bay in the south bay. again, you may see some of that haze outside, but as we head in towards sunday, things start to look a lot better.
