the curator of the smithsonian's american history museum sprang into action. she brought a team out here to san francisco to collect artifacts from anchor brewing before it closed down, and some of those artifacts are now on display at the smithsonian. our audrey asistio spoke to the curator. >> its history is so important to what the industry look likes today. when fritz maytag purchased the historic brewery in 1965, he revitalized it and made into it the first example of a microbrewery and into a business that brewed at small quantity, used recipes and ingredients that had not been used for a long time, if ever in the united states, and he inspired so many people, so many brewers and businesses to follow him. >> i understand there are some items already on display. can you tell us about some of them? and which one would you say is your favorite? >> well, and i'll explain. so following my 2017 visit to anchor brewing company when i recorded an oral history with fritz maytag, he very generously donated some of his most treasured artifacts to the smithsonian mu
