there's a new one by smyrna, delaware. another one in camden county pushing into areas close to camden and cherry hill. the big one to the west of coatsville in lancaster county that's starting to push light rain into chester county. as it comes in and really as all of these begin to develop they will be slow moving. they might not cover that large of an area, but where they do they will drench you with downpours for a while. that's why we have concerns about flash flooding as we go into the afternoon and this evening. there's a flood watch this evening, the big concern would be the northern suburbs, bucks, montgomery, mercer county and the lehigh valley out through reading and up into the poconos that's because these are the areas that really got slammed with heavy rain over the weekend and in some cases four to six inches over the last 48 hours. the ground is saturated and anything that pops will run off into the roads and trigger flash flooding and small flashy creeks and streams. even farther south if you get a thumper

smyrna finally about to get out of heavy rain. it's a slow moving storm. number of lightning strikes, 231 in the past 15 minutes. this storm looks like it's growing very slyy will into parts of salem county and parts of cumberland county so we'll watch that very closely for any locke lids flooding which we have intercations of and parts of riverview, lighter rain and milford heavier rain and the precip rates, especially close to ellendale, over 2 inches an hour and we're looking at flooding concerns in these areas. if you see the green shaded areas in kent county and cumberland counties and sussex county, flood advisories and could be looking at localized street and creek flooding from all of the heavy rape. most of the rest of the area dealing with the cloud cover and now we're looking through the poconos. thunderstorms here right near haileston and cross 476 right now 80 and some of the thunderstorms could hold together. right around weatherly, pretty heavy rainfall. some are moving faster and some could be moving into the lehigh vale later on this eveni

it stretches from smyrna across the delaware to fortescue.e had 53 lightning strikes in the past 15 minutes here but really the big issue is the heavy rain. we can flip this over and show you the rainfall totals and we've seen generally about an inch to about an inch and a half of rain with this cell about an inch and a half near smyrna, 1.2 in fortescue and this shows that there's just a lot of moisture in the air so any of the showers are thunderstorms can release a lot of rain in a short period of time. and this shows you the dewpoint across-the-board except for trenton above 70 degrees so that's a tropical air mass and that is what has all of that moisture. temperature-wise it's not the heat, it's the humidity. temperature is actually on the cool side, philadelphia 78, allentown 77, wilmington 78 and cape may currently 79 degrees. satellite6 along with action radar you can really see the showers and thunderstorms bubbling up and there is more activity across central pennsylvania. that will continue to push to the east as we head through t
