the difference i see in snapchat is you have to be in the snapchat app.an't really upload something to your story if you have done it in the past, it is right there and then and it keeps you inside their ecosystem and you have to make a choice whether you are going to be in snapchat or whether you are going to record something and put it up on facebook or twitter. i wonder how you see that choice playing out for the user. >> it's been amazing. what you have seen is the large media companies embracing snapchat and actually creating premium content for them for free. which is quite astounding. you see this great engagement by the users who enjoy this content while actually remaining in snapchat. we have things now such as shopable ads that target and others are rolling out, really keeping our facets there such as e-commerce. they are brareally building thi e-commerce ecosystem around snapchat itself. >> you mentioned challenges with vine. how does twitter react with vine within the portfolio? >> we have seen growth stagnate here. we think a couple things. o

i think snapchat is somewhere in between the two.d pi their early work in mon eteization, with their discover feature, and now some of the things they're doing with sponsorship of what they call lenses, which are the filters they apply to various videos. i think those are really good. i like them better than the early work that we saw at twitter. keep in mind, if the valuation is really 20 to $22 billion, they're going to need to grow really rapidly to get into that valuation. i think the reason they got it is very simple. supply and demand. there just are not very many fast growing companies out there at the scale they're at. there's snapchat, and i think the other one would be the people who make the gift keyboard. they're also growing like crazy. and there's so few of those today, that i think investors who need to be in that space don't have a lot of alternatives. you have to pay the price. >> roger, it's dan. wouldn't you say there's some scarcity value in what snapchat has been able to achieve in video views? estimates of $10 b

taking pitches on snapchat.e ahead on this hour. ♪ emily: earlier this month, apple made a $1 billion investment in china's leading ridesharing company. didi chuxing. the iphone maker may not need to wait long to cash in. reports are swirling that didi is targeting a u.s. ipo in 2017. something the company denies. the timing will depend on the outcome of the battle for market share with uber. we broke down the story. what do we know, and what did didi say? >> the report is from us, 2017, we could be considering ipo in new york depending on the competitive environment. there is some wiggle room. emily: didi denied the report? >> yes, but i think it sets up the timeframe. emily: you just spent several weeks in china. you used both services. what did you think? >> it is pretty clear that there is one service the needs to work on quality a little bit. the other one obviously, too. uber has some ways to go in terms of quality. drivers arriving on time, knowing the city. didi has an edge because they are paying higher
