starting to snow. it is not over yet. i'm lisa robinson. the snow is just beginning. meteorologist john collins is here with the latest. depending on where you were when you came in -- >> right, we sperpsed freezing rain here. i was only on the road for 10 minutes. that's what we're getting. surfaces that are cold. here in the city, the farther north we go, it is colder. especially higher up. so there is still snow falling north and northeast of us. take a look at the radar. to give you a quick overview of how the storm is doing, there is a break to the west for a while. down in the mountains of west virginia and virginia, there is quite a bit of moisture falling, and that is falling into cold air. the radar is indicating it is cold air. in the valley, the air is quite cold. that will be freezing on contact. in the baltimore area, the northeast corner of the state is still getting precipitation in the form of freezing drizzle and snow. basically in the area, we had 1 to 2 inches of snow. snow is not the problem as much as slippery surfaces. the roads i drove on have a

not the biggest snow we've ever seen, but here is the snow potential.light blue area we're thinking it's a coating to about an inch. some of this will melt off as we get our rain, but a little coating of ice on top of that tomorrow. 1 to 3 inches up to our north. this is about the next 12 hours, so between now and say noon. for some of you this will stay mostly as a frozen variety storm and here is an area we wanted to show you for potential for ice accumulation. this is not 1 to 2 inches of ice. this is maybe .1 to perhaps .2- inch of ice on top of some snow. that changeover will happen later tonight toward tomorrow morning, might hang around until about the noon hour as well. so be thinking in terms of holding off just a bit if you don't like to deal with the roads and slipperiness because it won't last all day. quick look at futurecast. you can see the pink areas. i'm running this out till 11 a.m. we're starting to see most lane, but some areas hang onto that freezing rain. that's where we may see some issues until the noon hour. the afternoon should
