so kevin quinn of not convinced that the s.p.d. should be in a grand coalition why is there such a popularity with some members on this grand coalition but it really comes down to this identity crisis that they espied day is currently facing much like many other social democratic parties across europe right now but in germany what made it specifically worst of them was that they've been now in two michel legrand coalitions and many of their party members and also in the leadership feel that the party has lost its way and they're struggling to define themselves right now and say exactly what they stand for of course under merkel moved her conservatives very much towards the center and in doing so she was able to poach a lot of the social democrats proposals particularly in the last four years of this current government and so you saw that the social democrats were really doing the lead legwork but not really profiting from anything and so right now there's a lot of s.p.d. members who want that they want them to take the time to rede

kevin, why has it been a struggle for president trump, for the republicans to do so well in pennsylvanians. -- a couple of reasons. a lot of republican strategists say that quite simply conservatives are motivated to get to the polls. obviously there working differences between that race in alabama and where we are today. president trump going all in. he was here over the weekend giving a bombastic campaign speech. prima trump, so to speak -- prime trump, so to speak. tom: let's look at this quickly. someis ella nielsen, with nice numbers. republican plus 11, that is a big number. there are technically 70,000 more registered democrats than republicans, but many of these voters have been casting ballots for the gop candidate for years. republican allied groups were outspending democrats 17 to one. where are the democrats going to come from in the hills in the valleys? democrats, thean union workers, and in particular you have seen top unions trying medicare,ssues of medicaid, and health insurance, really trying to get out the vote in that regard. when you look at it from a broader perspec
