so, i'm at a place where there's a social justice angle and working on titles that i love and idea my own and if i was not the acquisitions editor and that i get to do all of that in the venue i want. it's not a bad gig. >> yeah, i think that's the thing that is sustaining about the work that i do and that maybe we all do to some degree is that you get to see and if you're someone who loves books it's very exciting to know that it starts from the writers were there conceding their ideas and helping them shave those things and helping them direct the reporters and to shape their fiction and their writing fiction. you are working with them every step of the way and then you get to see the end, a book that goes into the hand of a reader and can see that in the best cases that book can have truly transformative effect not just the reader but the larger culture can shift the conversation about a certain subject and you can see it happened a few times it's justifies the work you're doing i have the pleasure of working with stuff that i hired so hopefully would like them but i do like them a
