and solano county is grouped in that.at in mind and i'll show you the wind speeds in just a minute but other than that it stays dry but it's wet with the weekend forecast. wind speeds today actually close to around 40, 50 miles per hour in the sacramento valley. but for our friends closer to fairfield, all the way down into concord even, mostly we're going to see anywhere up to around actually fairfield exclusively, anywhere up to around 30-mile-per-hour winds and it's a lot lighter in areas like concord just by 9:00 a.m. now it does get breezier as we head in the afternoon hours but that's the case all throughout the bay especially along our coastline. if you live up in the north bay, or at least close to the coastline near bodega bay,ly experience wind speeds anywhere up to around 30, 40 miles per hour there. fairfield at that point that wind advisory expires at 5:00 p.m. and dies down nicely in the overnight hours tonight. something to look forward to. but we're talking act the weekend now. we're taking a look at today

but then you see tomorrow morning, those winds start to ramp up, especially in solano county. some of those wind gusts 30, maybe 40 plus miles per hour. there as we head toward tomorrow morning. i think that will be the peak of the offshore winds. their normally winds kind of kick it up outside. so national weather service has issued a high wind advisory in solano county, a sustained winds about 15 to 25 gusting to 35. maybe 45 miles per hour in that area. so if your traveling toward the sacramento valley are coming back, you're going want to watch out for that, especially in a high-profile vehicle like a truck as that will be blown around. and some of those winds early tomorrow morning. onshore winds, though, kicking in right now. and it looks like really just some nice weather out there around the bay area. high pressure looks like it is going to hold on. there's one week system to our north up in pacific northwest washington. the oregon bringing them some showers right now. looks like that ridge going to stick around for at least one more day. then after that point, it star

our nbc bay area sky ranger is over a standoff on i-80 in solano county. this isn't far from the 680 junction, he tells us. this started in sonoma county after the suspect shot at a woman's vehicle. she wasn't hit, but the suspect's car was spotted in rohnert park, triggering a chase that has crossed three counties, ending right here in fairfield. this is video from just moments ago as our sky ranger stays over the scene. all directions, both directions of the freeway, are shut down while police try to get that suspect out of the car. i want to show you our traffic maps now, showing that backup now. no word yet on how long it could take for the scene to be cleared. it is a developing situation, but you see all that red on that screen. that means traffic is at a standstill in many directions. we, of course, will keep you updated throughout the evening. you can also get updates online and on our news app. there are no words that can convey how thankful i am that our officers and the mother and children they were protecting all made it to see the morning. als

a standoff on 80 in solano county, causing a traffic night there for drivers on 80 and 680. see that gray car right there surrounded by police cars and trucks? chp says officers chased this driver through three counties, beginning in sonoma county in rohnert park. that's where a woman first reported someone shot at her while she was on 101. officers tracked down that driver he sped off, sparking a chase that took them all the way to fairfield. our sky ranger was overhead for part of that chase. a suspect is in that silver car right there. police use spike strips and the car skidded to a stop on eastbound 80. but both directions of the freeway are shut down while police try to get that suspect out of the car. now, here is the major backup on 80 due to the lanes being closed. it is massive again. both sections of the highway closed right now near green valley road and the 680 intersection that goes on and on . there's obviously no telling how long it's going to take for that scene to be cleared. we're going to continue to bring you more information as it comes into our newsroo

amanda solano county prison has been captured after nearly two weeks on the run. authorities say james hsiung escaped from the delta conservation camp in solano county on may 13th. he was serving a sentence related to grand theft charges, weapon charges and parole violations after more than ten days on the run, police tracked him down in monterey over the weekend. he was taken to the soledad prison in monterey county, and he will be referred to the solano county district attorney's for new charges. and take a look at this wildfire burning in san benito county broke out in a remote area near new idria on saturday. that's about 2.5 hours west from fresno. you can see there burnt grass brush. so far, cal fire says 70% of the fire has been contained. they say firefighters are now cooling hot spots securing fire lines as well. the cause of that fire is still under investigation. a day of remembrance as the bay area honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice this memorial day. the presidio is the oldest national cemetery on the west coast and the annual memorial day c
