week nearly all of the bay area counties could move into phase 2 of reopening sonoma napa and solano counties already in phase 2. monday may 18th san francisco marin and san mateo counties will join in face too. and today we learned that alameda and contra costa counties are in the process of deciding. when phase 2 will start. alameda county says it anticipates moving into stage 2 early next week and contra costa county will decide on monday. while some businesses wait until monday to reopen the city of san francisco has also issued new guidelines today for essential businesses that are already open like grocery stores pharmacies hardware stores and restaurants that offer take out. businesses are expected to maximize the number of staff working from home have workers evaluate their health before each shift create a health and safety plan and social distancing protocols and require everyone to wear a face covering. there are also specific health directives for certain businesses for example at places like grocery stores are farmers markets. customers will not be allowed to touch any products.
