is reverting it back to what it was before we incorrectly rezoned it as part of western soma. the original intent this property georgely before the plan was adopted was already 160 feet. but it was zoned cm. and unfortunately again, due to an error in the ordinance, this parcel was captured in with the rest of the corridor along tenth street and it was down zoned as part of that ordinance. so what we are basically doing at this point is put the height back to where it was as opposed to adding this height from a lower height before. and then changing the zoning from cm to c3 g. >> the only thing that i would ask then is where is the building on the north side approved, is that still a viable project because that was allowing on a lower height despite the fact that it was a blank wall. >> are you referring to the parcel on the corner? >> i am not familiar with that project. >> they are moving for ward with the height and bulk that you proposed with a different architect but it is the height that you approved. >> right. so now the righting of the wrong height back to the right he

i'm the executive director of violence prevention program in the soma area. the program is 18 years long. we originally started in district 11 and was also in 10 but has made an impact in every district here, in every neighborhood. proud of the bay area. i'm born and raised in the south of market. i raise my family there and i'm very very supportive of the project that's being built in the 706 mission, the mexican museum project. i truly believe the diversity. this is san francisco, we encourage that, in the soma there is a lot of filipinos and a lot of everybody else. i believe with the museum there, diversity is stronger. i know the city supports diversity. i want to acknowledge supervisor kim for being a champion in our neighborhood and standing up for the things we need. i just want to acknowledge you and salute you and thank you for that. it says evaluate the western soma sud for consistency with the objectives of this plan in the area of overlap. i think the wording is backwards. i think it should be that the objectives of this plan should be examined for consistency with the western soma plan since it's in the plan we already adopted. so, i think that there's an inherent bias in the way this plan is written so that it somehow come out in front and everything else that we've already adopted are put on the back burner. >> thank you. let me add a couple thoughts on some topics that have been mentioned. i think in particular i have concerns about the existing communities that live in these neighborhoods. and, so, i'm hoping that we can find a way to actually study displacement in the e-i-r. i think coming off the conversation, the plan bay area, there was some sort of percentage assigned to the impact of displacement. i don't know what the methodology was or if it can be applicable, but i'd like us to look into that. i also was reading an e-i-r out of l.a. not too long ago about their regional connector transit project a

and was kind of a sidebar, you might say, in the western soma plan. but then the japantown folks had an opportunity to take that and produce the j chess document which we're looking at today. so, i think the issues, as karen kai said, aren't just isolated within japantown. the forum that she mentioned which took place in june brought together not only the japanese american community, but the filipino community, latinos from the mission district, and others in a forum that discussed this whole issue. so, i think the production and creation of this document is extremely important with respect to being a model or a direction that these other communities can take a look at and adopt as they wish in terms of addressing their own social and cultural heritage issues. that said, i'm glad to support obviously. but i think there are some problems that need to be addressed, and that is the document, i think, has some problems with the commission, i guess, maybe will have some problems in how to use the document within our own decision-making process. and i think

i'm actually here representing our youth in soma. we thought this hearing was going to go until later in the afternoon so a lot of them are running here but if they don't make it i just want to remind you that last year we spent a lot of time talking to voters informing them about proposition a, b, c and e and a clear mandate to the city for that and we work hard to generate more revenues that is shared equitably across the city's priorities particularly the area that has been hard hit by state and federal tax, the majority which are children, youth and families, so for us we are really saddened that dcyf cut a lot from our district even though our numbers in terms of youth might be declining that doesn't mean their needs are actually declining. according to the budget analyst when he did a city wide analysis and according to its report district 6 has the highest poverty per capita of any district in san francisco. this proves that the children and youth of district 6 are the highest need in san francisco. also according to the budge
