after the city cleared out nearby willow street in the tenderloin and sixth street in the soma district. the police chief expects more operations like this wherever they're needed. the bottom line to this is we're going to take action. and it's not like we haven't taken action. but displacement is a huge problem. the chief says there were so many arrests, they're still tallying all the various charges. some people were arrested for drug dealing, others for possession or warrants related to prior arrests. sentencing today for an east bay pastor c convictedf sex crimes, victor hernandez pineda is the former pastor at a spanish languguage pentecostal church in richmond. richmond police arrested hernandez pineda back in december. investigators say he sexually assaulted an underage member of his congregation many times. his charges include sexual assault of a child and kidnaping. hernandez pineda was sentenced today to seven years in prison. he was also ordered to register as a tier three sex offender, which means he'll be onhe registry for life and cannot petition to have his name removed.
