will take advantage of a road network that the italians built in part to try and control italian somaliland and over to ethiopia. this road network will allow allied forces coming up from the south to cover about 700 45 miles in 16 days. really, a remarkable, remarkable achievement by allied forces in the southern half of this picture. this operation will work spectacularly well. it works well in part because the italian commander on the scene did not really believe in this operation at all. he did not even think that the italians should be aligned with germany. he thought that britain was a more natural italian ally. most of the african soldiers on the ethiopian side are not terribly well motivated. instead, the forces on the allied side is quite highly motivated, well supplied and doing quite well. on may 5, 1941, he returns to his capital city after five years in exile. this is a very big deal as you might imagine. it is something that allied propagandist make a big deal of, he is the first world leader removed by the access to be returned to power. he will remain in that role as head of
