somara, how cold is it out there? >> warm in comparison to the past couple of days. but still a lot of us below freezing. we are seeing feels-like temperatures around 28 degrees. the current temperature is 34. the windchill not that bad. 37 towards winchester. here are the numbers. 25 in gaithersburg. 23 in manassas. you see a lot of us still below freezing. that's why the ice could be a bit of an issue. take a look at the temperature trend. nothing but hope, folks. temperatures on thursday, around 55 degrees. by friday, flirting with the 60s. normally, around 43 degrees. pace. let's get a check of the traffic now. >>> taking a look at the roads, a couple of things are happening. southbound gw parkway, the ramp to reagan national airport, we have a closure here. somara doesn't know which way to go here. the water main breaks and the other ramp is open. you can get through that way this morning. inner loop and outer looch the beltway, no problems. you can see as somara was saying, the fog will keep us from not seeing in the area. the fog is hanging around right now. i

speaking of out there, we have somara theodore on the weather patio. >> good morning, sheena. i can attest to that. walking to my car was slippery this morning and driving in fog -- look at the travel impact. a lot of treated roads and main roads, i-95 around the beltway, just looking at wet, slick roads. the side streets and untreated roads, that's where we've got a chance for patchy ice. you want to take your time as we're seeing issues with the driving conditions. as we head throughout the day, we'll see lots of improvement. temperatures are going to be rising without the upper 40s. so that's good news. we have a warmup on the way. sheena and i will be checking on that soon. >> actually pretty good. not too many issues in too many spots. side streets, sidewalks, the driveway, all of that slippery this morning. it's been treated. it's actually going to look pretty good here. inner loop and outer loop of the beltway, no problems right now. you still have this water main break with the repairs eastbound. east-west highway after new hampshire avenue getting by. westbound washin

somara theodore taking a look at your four zone forecast with wind chills by friday morning. >> yes, some of us are going to feel colder than others. we know it gets cold toward the mountains. this isn't fair. areas like front royal could feel like 17 degrees below 0 friday morning. this is some extreme cold we're talking about. we could see wind chills below 0 in the mountain zone. all day long on your friday. let's head out towards the western zone. my friends in manassas, about 10 degrees below 0. it's feeling friday morning. waking upstanding at the bus stop in leesburg kiddos will be feeling temperatures 11 below zero. make sure they're bundled p. this zone below 0 most of the day. bumping up into the single digits. then we head to area. for us still very cold. maybe not down towards the teens below 0, but minus 8 in the district. that is fairly cold, you know. and we are going to be seeing these numbers feel like the single digits at best for your friday afternoon. so, it's really important to stay warm. not only that, another thing i want to point out is thursday morning for u

. >> somara, we'll see you in a bit and to a developing story in southwest d.c. firefighters battled a hy fire at the marina this morning. d.c. fire posted this video of the flames when they arrived on the scene. >>> news 4's adam tus has bes h latest from the marina. >> the fire's out and it's been out for some time and luckily no one was hurt and take a look at where it started at that plank right there in the marina and one of the boats next to the fire was not an easy fight. the fire, the water, the ice all made for tricky conditions. as the flames burned at the james creek marina a d.c. fireboat battling as best it could. fire crews also responding on foot. dramatic images show just how intense this boat fire was, two boats fully engulfed and this is what the scene was as the sun rose. charred out shells of what was. even the neighboring boats damaged, the dock, blackened. >> shocked. ye of the boat next to the boat where the whole fire started. his boat which was closed up for the winter is obviously now a complete loss. >> we bought the boat in 2013, so wh

somara theodore in the weather center with more on what you can expect at the bus stop. >> yeah, you know, waking up tomorrow morning, you saw those feel like temperatures below 0 for some of us in the single digits. the actual temperature is 13 degrees. don't be fooled by that. for the kids standing out there it's going to feel bad. make sure they're wearing layers. recess time, even with temperatures at 22, those feel like temperatures going to be more like 16 degrees by the middle of the day. so it is important maybe you do something indoors. picking them up at the bus stop temperatures will be around 26 degrees. the good news is plenty of sunshine tomorrow. winds will be calming by the afternoon. so, how about the next couple of days? what wilt at the bus stop the next couple of days? really unbelievable. for some of us in frederick, maryland, near zero. wednesday 16 degrees, still very cold. thursday and friday, take a look at friday. for the kiddos standing at the bus stop on friday, minus 1. make sure they're layered up. we can't stress that enough, right, doug? >> absolutely.
