it's a single-cell storm pushing its way throughout mostly napa and sonoma county this morning. let's dive into this a little bit more. we haven't seen any multicell storms which is great news. the lightning activity we did see earlier was offshore so what we're concerned about right now is just those cells continuing to populate. this is closer to san francisco. you see all of that offshore activity pushing its way into marin as we wake up this morning and head into the afternoon. that's going to continue to be the trend for us. this is going to be a very active morning indeed, taking a look at futurecast, this is one of our models, we're still seeing the storms push to the north, even as we head into the afternoon hours, all the way into the evening. so it will clear up as we head into our tuesday forecast, really this is just a monday storm. i think it wanted to make its debut in time for the first day of august, but as we look at the winds on the bright side, they're staying pretty light for us not only this morning but as we extend into the afternoon today, too. daytime hig

sonoma resident greg brasswell has clear sailing once he reaches a marina located next to the highwayights the heavy traffic to get there. he supports a quicker fix with phased in upgrades and not have to build the mega project all at once. but then those pieces of infrastructure could be added on to a sea levels rise, but critics are concerned that the widening plan would still cost hundreds of millions of dollars and could be anything but short-term north bay congressman jared huffman is especially skeptical you really have to look critically at that. no one in their right mind is going to tear out a brand new four-lane freeway that cost half a billion dollars 15 years after its bill. it's just not going to happen and with the recent passage of major national climate legislation huffman and other supporters also see the raised causeway project as a historic opportunity not just to solve a traffic nightmare, but to build green infrastructure combating sea level rise by giving bay tides space to expand creating new habitats for wildlife and sequestering carbon in a martian environment

the sonoma county sheriff's office says the video is from the july 29th incident that killed 36 year old david chavez . in the video. a deputy yells at chavez to drop something in his hand. investigators say chavez was holding a hammer making nonsensical statements and threatened to throw rocks at the deputies, deputies say nearby resident reported chavez allegedly used a rock to break a window at his home and stole a truck. the sheriff's office says this investigation is ongoing. two deputies involved in the shooting were placed on administrative leave pending the investigation. we should learn more tomorrow about an incident in san francisco, where police in an armed men were firing shots at each other. sfpd is planning to host a virtual town hall tomorrow at three p.m. to provide the community with an update on the investigation. police say the august 6th shooting on shotwell in 18th street's involved a bicyclist who wrote away from a road away after officers were trying to detain him. police say officers opened fire after he shot at them. it was later determined the man was firin
