absolutely i mean, this is our 19th annual, charles schulz sonoma county airport and atherton, sonomatry half marathon. but it's a july. it's a summertime fitness tradition. actually, the weather right now feels pretty good for these runners. so our operations team has been working collaboratively with public health authorities and local officials to implement a heat plan for today's race. and so we have cooling busses parked along the course. we've doubled the order of ice at the finish line. we're going to ensure that these runners have that safe and experience as possible. and the good news is the race starts at 7 a.m, vast majority of these runners are going to be crossing the finish line before 10 a.m. and enjoying more than 30 wineries here at our festival. and how important are the volunteers here? because i know they've got water bottles on hand ready to give out volunteers, make the race and bringing the community out. we're partnering with three local charity organization. like i said, this is a community event that celebrates the best of what wine country has to offer. and

we're part of sonoma county. we're about an hour, hour and a half north of san francisco. our economy really, really is primarily an agricultural tourism area--wine tasting, vineyards, hospitality. my parents started this farm in the late fifties. my mom would joke that she had to track me down the first day of kindergarten because i was holding tools for my dad fixing fences. ha ha! diane: he bounces out of bed every morning so excited to go down to the farm. he loves it, so that's a very good thing, but i don't think i could do it. i think at some point, i would probably say, "enough." john: this has been my whole life, living on this farm. the ranch itself is 360 acres. we have 40 acres planted in pinot noir and chardonnay grape vines, and then the rest is in the farm buildings and organic pasture for our dairy animals. diane: agriculture is not easy. animal agriculture is even harder. it's a 24/7 thing... diane: and at times, it can be a little bit overwhelming because it just never turns off. john: yeah. yeah. diane: we're in another drought here in the western united

this is the weekend when the dragsters take up residence at sonoma raceway. the motorcycle final turned out to be a disaster for matt smith. smith set to race against gage herrera but couldn't get his bike started. that allowed herrera to take a non contested victory ride. he came. here's the funny car final. that's j.r. todd and the yellow car. he'll get a little sideways, but hang on to edge. chad green todd tops out at 322 miles an hour for his first win in a drought that spanned 53 races. and then the top dealers, justin ashley against antron brown. that's ashley in the far lane. you can see on the photo finish how close it was. the margin was 1/1000 of a second. it's the fifth win this year for ashley and 12 events. he takes over the overall top fuel points league, nascar on the short track at richmond on a restart with three laps to go. chris buescher on the inside gets a jump on denny hamlin and takes the lead busch held on to win by a half second over hamlin with four races left to establish the field, butcher clinches a spot in the 16 driver playoffs
