sonoma county officials said that they were powerless to stop it because they do not have jurisdiction over tribal casinos and lands. that party was supposed to happen during a time when covid-19 cases are skyrocketing, icu beds are dwindling. all indoor entertainment venues under the state's purview have been shut down. yesterday a sonoma county spokesperson made it clear they do not support the party even though the casino had said it was exceeding covid setyaf protocols. then this afternoon, a message posted on a facebook page that appears to belong to the tribal chairman, greg sarris, signaled that something had changed. the post says that the new year's eve party and all other gatherings at the casino have been canceled. there was no explanation why, but sonoma county supervisor davidabbi r said he is grateful to the chairman and the tribe for that decision. >> in this day and age, it's never going to come across right, but i think they were trying to limit the overall occupancy of the casino to about a quarter of what it usually is. even though it comes across as a very large par
