but then when you head into napa and sonoma valleys, it's going to be hot with highs in the upper 80se low 90s expected for the south county today. tomorrow we see the heat cranking up even more, and this will be the peak of the temperatures that we'll see throughout the workweek. so we're going to see a lot of upper 90s, a few triple digit temperatures like concord, fairfield, vacaville as well as clear lake and ukiah. while we will see a lot of 90s for much of the rest of the north bay, san francisco is keeping it cool with some low 70s. there and then on wednesday it's starting to cool down. just a little bit more. we won't see as much of a major heat risk for the inland valleys, but it still will reach into the mid 90s for san martin, livermore, as well as in parts of the north bay. vacaville headed for 98 degrees on wednesday and overall our weather pattern, the setup that we're seeing is high pressure centered over the southwest, but it's also going to draw in quite a bit of moisture for areas just off to the east, causing some thunderstorms. of course, all of that staying away

so slightly warmer on sunday if you're going to sonoma valley this weekend, you'll have some really niceeather. although it will be cloudy only 72 on friday. these temperatures are cooler than normal, but we'll start to work our way back to some more summerlike weather by sunday, with highs reaching into the mid 80s as we get a look at big sur. it's going to be in the low 70s for friday, and then also about 73 degrees on saturday. starting out with some clouds, but then clearing out as we go throughout the day. and some upper 70s for the end of the weekend. if your weekend plans take you to yosemite or anywhere in the sierra, we are going to see that chance of some very high elevation snow. so it may start out as rain on friday evening and then transition over to snow as those temperatures drop late friday night into early saturday morning. and then we're going to see highs only in the low 50s there with some gusty winds and then clearing as we head toward sunday. so a lot of changes not only here in the bay area but also across the region. so i'll be tracking that for you. time now to c

we're in the mid 60s, but in the north bay we do have some cooler numbers in the valleys of sonoma county, santa rosa right now, one of the coolest spots on the map, 49 degrees. but today is another day where away from the coast it is hot so temperatures will take off pretty quickly this morning. they rise rapidly through 11 a.m. and then into the afternoon. we're in the upper 90s to about 100 in our hottest spots inland around the bay shoreline. a big difference today compared to yesterday. we have all this sunshine early on in the morning, so the warming process will be quicker than yesterday. we'll get into the upper 70s, lower 80s around the bay shoreline. even along the coast. it's a beautiful day along the coast, a mix of sun and clouds today and we'll have highs in the low and mid 60s. let's check in with amanda and see those drive times. >> hi drew. we're going to take you to concord where things are definitely slowing down. this is a two vehicle crash that has been moved out of the middle lane and is now on the shoulder westbound for just before port chicago highway. you can see

sonoma 89, saratoga 88. castro valley, right around 80 degrees this afternoon. and the satellite.e had some patchy fog this morning, but clearing out nicely this afternoon, as you can see throughout the day. in fact, here's a closer look at the satellite. so mostly clear skies, even out toward the coastline this afternoon. and current numbers out there. san francisco, 69 degrees san jose 80. concord 87. some 90s to reports of getting hot inland out towards santa rosa and fairfield. concord in the upper 80s checking in 87, and there is still a bit of a breeze out there you can see developing throughout the day. there's oakland westerly at about 14 miles an hour out toward sfo, winds gusting to 37 miles an hour. so these values have been picking up just over the past few hours. here's our live camera from the south bay this afternoon. you still see lots of blue sky out there, and we are expecting maybe some patchy cloud cover first thing tomorrow morning. no big changes in your friday forecast. it's been our theme for the past few days, kind of sticking with the same old weather sto

while the north bay will range from upper 60s in bodega to bay 78 mill valley and 85 in sonoma, and a little bit hotter farther north. but overall, we are seeing a fairly steady weather pattern and the pressure systems that are coming in that will bring about a slight change for the weekend. this low dropping down the coast will, with its clockwise under counterclockwise wind flow, will kind of push in more of an ocean breeze and bring down those temperatures even in the inland valleys. but that change is very slight in morgan hill. we're going from upper 80s for today to mid 80s for the weekend, and then back up to the upper 80s for early next week. so not a lot of changes here, and it's also nice and cool for each morning. temperatures in the mid to upper 50s san francisco continuing to see times of clouds. and it will be breezy with highs in the upper 60s there. mike, you are seeing the lanes filling in at the bay bridge toll plaza, which is not a surprise, but the pattern here is still a little more gradual build. this being a tuesday, i expected they'd be filled by now, but we're

see a few showers work into the east bay, tri-valley first, diablo valley after that and then across san pablo bay, marin, and sonomathat organized line will pretty much most of the bay. there's not a lot of rain in it, but you'll get some light rain as this moves through and a few follow-up showers could graze through solano county overnight and then that should be the end of our share of this. we'll have interesting looking clouds again tomorrow, but i think our chance for rain ends after midnight. the one little caveat is even though there's light rain coming, there's about a 5% to 10% chance max some of the lightning holds together as this moves over the bay. that would be a bigger condition. we don't want any lightning on the landscape now. there will be plenty of lightning in the sierra. there has been all day. there's a good wetting rain that goes with all this over there as well. there's some good news in terms of that. okay. tomorrow's forecast once we get through the excitement of tonight and all the action that we're seeing outside the windows here, we'll jump ahead to tomorrow morning. we'll let the mari

we've got numbers in the 80s around mill valley and low 90s as you head over to santa rosa and sonomaapa 87 tomorrow likely to see 90s all across the north bay by tuesday. right now, tuesday and wednesday, a pretty close battle for the hottest days of the week. and there you go. upper 90s out towards solano county. upper 90s south of san jose, upper 70s in san francisco and 80s into oakland. similar temperatures on the way for wednesday. then if you look closely, by thursday, we begin to see a little sign of change. a little more wind coming in from the coast as we'll watch another area of low pressure later in the week. except unlike what we just went through, this one's just likely to trigger a stronger sea breeze as it approaches the coast there, which will lead to the downward trend of temperatures as we approach next weekend. so a mostly three day heat event for our inland valleys. san francisco not much change, just a bit warmer towards tuesday, then dropping down as we head towards next weekend and the hottest temperatures of the week. you see it right there. looks like tuesday
