that's when a heat advisory will go into effect for the north bay, south bay and the inland east bay. under a heat advisory we're talking temperatures in the mid- to upper 90s in the afternoon. we're going to crank the heat up even more on thursday. thursday looks to be our hottest day and that is when we have excessive heat warnings going into effect for the north bay mountains and the inland east bay. if you're under an excessive heat warning that means the odds are very likely you're going to exceed 100 degrees in the afternoon. so we're talking about like pleasonton, walnut creek, we're going to see some of our hottest temperatures. you notice some very hot numbers. you will also notice a very weak on shore flow is going to keep cities very close to the water. not too hot. yes we'll warm up into the 80s but still nowhere near as hot as the excessive heat warning. here's the accu weather 7 day forecast. moderate heat on wednesday and thursday and friday excessive heat warning. summer officially begins on sunday night. >> oh gosh. oh boy. although technically it will feel like it on

now as we go to the south bay, looking at those high temperatures first milpitas will reach up to 76 we'll see gilroy reaching 86 today and 80 in east san jose. some mid 80s for parts of the east bay from antioch over to walnut creek, while oakland today tops out at 70 degrees. some mid-60s for daly city and 75 for redwood city. san francisco reaching 66 in the mission district and our north bay highs reaching 80 in santa rosa. so let's talk about what's ahead after some nice weather today and tomorrow. then we start to see those excessive heat watches going up for solano county, most of the really big heat will be for the central valley but we're going to feel it here for our inland areas. i'll stop it here, 3:00 on wednesday, and we're seeing some low 90s in napa, mid-90s for santa rosa and into the tri-valley as well. we'll see some mid-90s in livermore. gets even hotter on thursday, this is when the heat peaks and we could see the triple-digit temperatures for parts of the north bay, down to the south bay as well as the north bay. so this is for our inland forecast. even once we

not a lot but there are patchy areas where we have seen low clouds near danville's and towards the south baynot here. a lot of sunshine on the bay bridge, our view from treasure island. wind advisory today noon until 8:00. primarily it's a coast issue. there is one other location to spotlight in addition to the coast through san mateo. in san francisco it's been windy for four days. it's going to be noticeably windier today, possible gusts up to 40 miles an hour. here is where this will likely be noticed most, up the 680 corridor, not far from the camera we were looking at. 580 corridor, anywhere for these inland valleys through contra costa and alameda, this is where the wind advisory will be felt by most. noon to 8 today, 30-mile an hour gusts. i doubt you will see the 45- mile an hour gusts in the communities but it will be windy. watch what happens. right now it's windy at the coast but the screen lights up into the afternoon. that's 4:00, classic timing. into the late afternoon, we have the most heating of the day, winds pulled on shore faster. that's when we will notice it strongest. t

tonight for the north bay, east bay and parts of the south bay. let's show you where the heat was coming from today, it's all about this area of hot high pressure sitting across the west. so, again, this brought us those uncomfortable temps for the bay area. but the change we're going to see as we move through tomorrow is the area of high pressure moving off to the east. think of it as a conveyor belt, as it moves off to the east, it's going to allow another system to move in. that's that cooler area of low pressure. this will help to drop the temperatures in the coming days and get the fog going at the coastline. i think it's going to be a lot more comfortable tomorrow and wednesday and thursday. as we roll into the tuesday morning forecast you can see the fog at the immediate coast line and the fog rolling in there to san francisco, oakland and a patch of clouds for the north bay. mostly clear elsewhere to the east bay and south bay. the big change is we will continue to keep the foggy breeze right here through the coast. that will help temperatu
