for those of you in the south bay, but everyone else north bay, san francisco peninsula and east bay seeing widespread light rain. the heaviest right now just over and murray ville and south of berkeley that's where we're getting some pretty decent downpours there. but as you can see, that atmospheric river out in the pacific tapping into that plume of subtropical moisture from hawaii and it's going to combine with the storm out of the pacific northwest bringing us 24 hours and inches of rain when it is all said and done could be one for the record books specially for the month of october. we're already well above average as far as rain totals go. and we're getting more, in fact, are tracking futurecast for by sunday morning at 3 o'clock. we will see the heaviest rain over santa rosa and our north bay valleys specifically in between napa and sonoma county moderate rain for the san francisco peninsula and into the east bay. for those of you in the south bay, you won't really start to notice the impacts of that atmospheric river until sunday night. but sunday morning, it's just going to

nothing down towards the south bay. once we hit about 8:00 in the morning we get the heavier rain over the north bay, continuing over the east bay and you're still rain shadowed in the south bay. it has a hard time developing because the higher elevations steal a lot of that moisture. then as we roll through the afternoon and the evening you'll start to see more consistent rainfall on sunday over the east bay and the peninsula. it's still going strong over the north bay but san jose again rain shadowed. as we head through the evening, you'll see at 7:30 at night on sundays we'll see that rainfall develop down over the south bay and this thing will kick out of here monday morning. get ready for these totals. this is just phenomenal. we couldn't get anything close to this if we tried for the past ten months. what you're going to see here is a massive bull's-eye of rain over the north bay. that gray to pink magenta color, that's anywhere from 2 to 4 inches. you can see the key at the top. a lot of the east bay and peninsula

we've had this the past couple of mornings. 53 in the south bay right over to the north bay. the coldest numbers are down to 47. daytime highs, i don't see them adjusting a whole lot. widespread 60s from the north bay down to the south bay. now here's the other thing, while we get sun for the middle of the day we'll look at another chance late tomorrow night of a spotty shower right around 11:00 p.m. but after that, we're going to be looking good here as we head through this weekend's forecast. if you're headed out to fleet week, make sure to take those sunglasses and that jacket, temps in the 60s. as the first day of the air shows begin tomorrow. maybe it's not there, but oracle park, game one, we're going to have 50s through that game and those clouds. i think pregame on saturday is going to be awesome. we'll get some sun in san francisco and mid-60s. on my seven-day forecast, we'll hold with those 60s in san francisco over the next seven days and for the inland valleys we go warmer this weekend. i've got this set to 79 on sunday and then unfortunately some wind next monday

friday over the north bay, east bay, peninsula, south bay. it will be pretty quick moving here and kick out about 10:00 a.m. on friday. rainfall totals with this on average about .5 to .75 inches for a lot of the bay area. north bay toward contra costa county county, alameda counties, a lot of the peninsula. rain shadowing going on for the southern peninsula and san jose, so the mountains are stealing a lot of the moisture, not leaving as much in san jose, .25 inches or less. rain shadow with that second storm down toward the south bay. beyond that, we are talking about that sunday storm system. and this is definitely going to have what's called an atmospheric river tap. it's a copious amount of moisture, some subtropical moisture that builds in the pacific. saturday night, we're starting to get that rainfall moving in here towards the bay area. then watch, there is that atmospheric river lining up right there. it's going to be pointed to the north over eureka by sunday morning, and then watch as we head through sunday night. you can see how t
