folks in south carolina -- i'll tell you that in south carolina, we have about 4.7 million people. 600,000 or 700,000 folks do not have health insurance coverage. 4.6 million, 4.7 million south carolinians of which about 700,000 today do not have health insurance. but under obamacare, we would hope, we would hope that the number would go down, not up up. go from 7 hoopt down to 600,000 or 500,000, 400,000. it is over 430,000 of the 700,000 people are eligible for obamacare. but the number is not going down. the number is going up. because 150,000 south carolinians have received cancellation notices. let's frame that a little bit. we have 700,000 uninsured of which 430,000 are eligible for obamacare. and yet instead of seeing the number of uninsured go from 700,000 down to 600,000 or 500,000 or 400,000, we've seen the number go up because 150,000 people have received cancellation notices. 150,000 south carolinians have received cancellation notices. so -- someone would obviously ask the question how many folks have signed up for obamacare in south carolina? if 430,000 south carolinians are

joining me now is democratic congressman james clyburn of south carolina. thank you for your time. >> thank you for having me. >> what details have you been privy to, for these daily events rolled out through december 23rd. will it be leadership like yourself? what kind of community outreach have you heard we'll see for the next few days here? >> i think it's going to be all hands on deck as you mentioned regarding getting the website to function properly. i think to get the message out as it should be gotten out that there's going to be a coordinated effort between the members of congress and the administration trying to make sure that the people who want access, a million yesterday, 350,000 plus already today, making sure that it gets to 2 million a day if that's what is required. you know, we said 800,000 a day and already mentioned a million a day. who knows where we go here but all of us will work together trying to get the word out to make sure that people have access to affordable accessible health care. >> as you know, the democrats coordinated effo

a date has been set in south carolina.orting that a date, january 21, has been set for a judge the motion and either deny or grant a new trial for the young boy and possibly clear his name. >> this were no witnesses. couldn't his family testify on his behalf? >> there were no witnesses called on his behalf in 1944. the trial lasted a few hours. he had a brother and a sister who were with him at the time who weren't called to testify when the sentence of electrocution was put down there was no appeal filed. the jury deliberated for ten minutes. 83 dais later stinney was executed. >> the family were concerned for their own safety. >> they had to leave town in south carolina that same night. there were people that were upset about the girls being murdered that wanted to put the law in their own hands. their safety was in question. >> interestingly you spoke with a man who said he shared a cell with the boy before he was executed. listen let's listen to that. >> he said, johnny, i didn't do it. i didn't do it. he said, why wou
