there were 20 different reports, most centered around south dakota. sunday, we only had seven severe reports total, including wind, hail and tornadoes. that day didn't have any tornadoes to report, but every day since then, we've had to 2300 reports and 20-30 reports of tornadoes specifically each day. it's been a very active week. this boundary through the northern tier of the country is what has been firing that off day after day. we have something pulling out of the rack keys that a north-south oriented line with a cold front coming through could be another firing spot today. here's a look at storm damage yesterday. yesterday with just over 20 tornado reports was actually our lowest day since sunday, and still, very, very significant. don't want to underestimate that. we also had a lot of wind reports as we got south of the great lakes. it's been a problem with this line. the biggest left from the midwest through the southern plains, place like texas is more associated with the new frontal boundary, the cold front versus the stationery front, our f

friday here is the forecast, north and south dakota down through parts of nebraska and kansas into ioware it is on saturday. this is a slow-moving storm, so it dumps a lot of rain over the same area. by sunday, out of minnesota, south through iowa, into parts of missouri where the heaviest rain is. how much? two to three inches of additional rain on top of inches which has come here in the past month. so well above average here. and this is what it does to the river gauges. this is the mississippi river right into minneapolis. and the river is cresting, but remains above the major flood stage. still seeing moderate flooding at least for the next two weeks as a lot of this rain continues to add to the problem. the waters will start to drop a little bit. but they will remain above the flood stage for at least the next week. flash flooding also a possibility from this storm. right out of the gulf through texas, oklahoma, and up into this storm which is spinning around north and south dakota, and will slowly push east. this severe water area. that's where it is today. tomorrow it will push

. >>> members of the national guard and red cross are helping out a small town in south dakota that was struck by a powerful tornado. look at this. the national weather service says wessington springs took a direct hit from the twister that you see right here. so far, no injuries or fatalities have been reported. >>> all right, let's get the latest look at weather with my good friend, bill karins. >> a rough three days. >> have we seen enough tornadoes already? >> in the last three days, over 100 reports of at least tornadoes, and the severe weather continued last night through areas of the ohio valley, right through the mid-atlantic with some strong storms. all those blue dots show you the wind damage reports. there were a lot of them, especially around the pittsburgh area. the red triangles show you where we had the tornadoes, mostly out there in areas of south dakota, minnesota and a few there near nebraska. so, that line of storms did weaken, finally, overnight, brought a little light rain the last hour or two to new york city. that is now moving out. just light rain and much cooler

also watching in south dakota where one storm has popped up in central south dakota, where we have a tornado warning now. otherwise, severe thunderstorm watch, and 60 mile-per-hour wind gusts, that's what's reported with this very large hail. all this rainfall coming down. places like nebraska, well, this is just from a storm system rolling through and we totaled norfolk airport, almost an inch and a half of rain, far higher total, places around omaha, that makes it very easy to bring down trees, power outages, flood concerns, the rivers are running so high, we hit record flooding levels in parts of the big sioux and little sioux river, northwest iowa. now even clarinda, iowa, you have gotten much more than an inch of rain in the last 24 hours. we'll get it begin, the storm that's developing will leave a boundary layer for those storms to fire up east, carolina coast, militarmyrtle beach, hard and h. what's not handled so well is, hot and sticky and humid. memphis, seeming more like 103 for you today. triple-digit heat when we factor humidity and heat together. >> the feels like temp
