welcome to the south dakota air and space museum when people think about south dakota they don't always think about a great aviation state but we have a huge aviation heritage in this state over the years we've played a huge part in our national defense ellsworth air force base began in world war ii its purpose in world war ii was to train bomber crew specifically b-17 crew if you think about it if you're going to learn to to navigate a world war ii bomber over long distances and and expanses of territory. south dakota is really a great place to put the base. and that was the beginning of ellsworth air force base. the connection from world war ii to the cold war is really represented in our museum the 44th. bomb group was trained here at ellsworth air force base. but then when the cold war came around that bomb group then became the 44th missile wing, which was commanded out of ellsworth air force base and that missile wing is really part of the the cold war narrative when think about cold war. you of course think about the b-52s that were based here you think about the ready response o

many in the media, they criticized south dakota's approach.y labeled me as ill-informed, that i was reckless, and even a denier. some even claimed south dakota was as bad as it gets anywhere in the world when it comes to covid-19. that is a lie. the media -- [applause] the media did all this while simultaneously praising governors who issued lockdowns, who mandated masks and shut down businesses, applauding them as taking the right steps to mitigate the spread of the virus. at one point, i appeared on george stephanopoulos' sunday show. i don't know if you watch that. no? you don't? shocker. he just wrapped up a section with new york governor andrew cuomo, where he asked cuomo to give me some advice on how to deal with covid. [laughter] now seems like a good time to remind everyone what governor cuomo was doing in new york. on march 25, cuomo ordered covid patients into nursing homes and he prohibited the staff from testing people before admitting them. nine days later, he pushed legislation prohibiting nursing home lawsuits over covid deaths.

here is a question from the viewer, can the attorney general from south dakota be impeached?ble story. the state attorney general has been charged with three misdemeanors. misdemeanors don't care a lot of jail time but each could put him in jail up to 30 days. it's crazy to think about the top law enforcement officer in the state potentially going to jail. in addition to that he is facing state level impeachment. it's not just for presidents. and in south dakota what you need in order to impeach is a majority of the sfat house and then a two thirds vote of the state senate. if that stounds familiar it's because it was taken word for word from the federal u.s. constitution. and looks like there is broad even bipartisan support to impeach and remove him. the attorney general here is a republican. the governor of the state is also a republican. and she has called on him to resign. i think it's only a matter of time before this attorney general either resigns or gets forced out through the impeachment process. >> good stuff, elie hoenig good to see. >> you thanks ana. >> you can
