south bay here. 7 a.m. tomorrow morning. then we start to see it. try to move down to contra costa, alameda counties in the peninsula by 11:00. still not much at all of anything down there towards san jose. by 1 p.m. we could get some showers down here towards the south bay, but you'll notice it just continues to go up in the north bay. and that's where we could run into problems with this atmospheric river just kind of stalling out up across the north bay. by 5 p.m, it lifts a little more to the north. so not a whole lot here. san francisco southward. and you're still in it. there up towards our northern counties. by 8 p.m. tomorrow, we start to see more of that in the east bay and peninsula, and little to nothing in san jose. but i do think by the time we get into thursday, also, as we head into friday's forecast, we would see this start to swing back around and hit all of the bay area. and that's where we pick up on totals there. south of san francisco as we head into thursday and friday. and then as we head into saturday afternoon, this would start to clear out

every now and then, some light rain coming through, but it's mainly going to be the south bay down to the heavier rainfall and chances will continue into tomorrow morning. and then we start to see things clearing out. so between now and tomorrow morning we could see another 2:45 tenths of an inch of rainfall. and it could be a little bit heavier for morgan hill and areas just farther to the south. but then once this system pushes out by late tuesday into wednesday, it's looking dry for thanksgiving and even thereafter, for much of the bay area, we could start to see some scattered showers for southern california by the end of the week. but it looks like that stays away from us. so taking a look at our 7-day forecast, we're in the brunt of this storm for what we are seeing right no. tapering off between today and tomorrow and then going into the rest of the holiday week looks much better. and mike, the commute is a little slower to form. yeah, because it's a lighter volume this week. likely to be a monday, tuesday, wednesday. and then of course thursday and friday. of those folks, we t

the rain down south is just that. it's rained south of here. most for the most part. er model teed up. i want to show you kind of what's happening. it's an atmospheric river. you can kind of see it down there to the south of us, and it's doing what it does, but it's doing it on the other at a lower latitude. so you see it slip away. that's on wednesday, and then here comes thursday and it looks nice. there is some valley fog. see that down, down towards bakersfield that bottom part of the screen. that's valley. there'll be more than that. the models aren't really picking it up, but i think they'll be valley fog in parts of the bay area as well. and then a few clouds early friday morning. but we've got a nice pattern for you. this big high pressure is going to set up and stay set up long enough to cool temperatures to get you a frost advisory. i don't see freeze warnings coming, but i do see a few frost advisories in our future frost advisory. pretty low grade stuf. but if you're a gardener or, you know you know, in my in my world, frost only comes into play when i don'

you can see that are heavier showers are actually to the south down along the central coast. we're south of monterey along the big sur coastline. that's where we really see in our heaviest concentration of rain so far we've seen some pockets of moderate to even a few heavy showers here in the bay. and that includes right now over the bay bridge, a pretty solid band working its way over angel island as well as over towards treasure island and up into the marin headlands too. so do watch a bridge crossing there. it's a little bit breezy and certainly wet. we are seeing showers on the san mateo bridge as well as further south into the south bay. as you cross highway 17 making your way down toward santa cruz. also watch for some heavier pockets down that direction. winds not a huge factor, although breezy 15 mile per hour gusts at points this morning. temperature wise, we're hanging out in the 50's for most areas. a few 40's for inland areas. pittsburgh, brentwood in the upper 40's right now, santa rosa sitting at 51 degrees today does start very wet by mid afternoon. we should st

but down here in the south bay. look at that. it is gorgeous, but it won't last long. at cloud cover rolling down into parts of the east bay and the south bay. pretty soon here, taking it into our lunchtime hour will feel the breeze pick up as well. and we'll await those afternoon showers as we go on and wrap up the weekend. temperatures will also be on the cooler side. not too much change from yesterday, mostly upper 50s and 60s on our map, and that should stay for the next couple of days. as well. here's that shot of rain as we go on in. maybe drive back from our long weekend. we are looking at first rolling in through the north bay around three 4:00, then into parts of the peninsula and the east bay around dinner time and right around bedtime, getting into the south bay. but overall should be a clear and another cool night ahead. as far as totals for today, we are looking at trace amounts once again, a better shot maybe for parts of san francisco along the coast, half moon bay could see a 10th of an inch there, but we are looking at possibly higher totals as we go on

south. but watch what's happening here down along the central coast. this is an upper level low which is going to drift northward, sending more clouds from south to north by this time tomorrow night. mostly cloudy skies and you see it right there sunday morning. slight chance of showers. off to the east and then partly cloudy skies as we wrap up the weekend. so it's not a zero chance as we head into the weekend that a few spots, especially east of san jose around the inland mountains or the coastal mountains could see some light showers early on sunday. but beyond that, the forecast does trend drier. look how high pressure really keeps things in terms of rain chances focused on the pacific northwes. that will take us all the way into next weekend. and speaking of weekends, december, get started on sunday. look at that 60s around san francisco. the more interesting part of the forecast, beyond those sprinkles, we might see sunday morning, is those high temperatures. look at those 70s areas around san jose included. could be seeing low 70s as we start off

look at the wall of green that is going right in to big sur from monterey south down to santa barbara. and that is just like the first chapter. now watch how that sets up. that's what it was doing in mendocino county. i don't think that it will be as intense for them as that was for sonoma county and the rest of us here. but look at where we are on the edge of it with more rain out of it on monday and tuesday. this just means it will get noticeable rain on tuesday because you're a little bit closer. that thing will fall apart and leave, where is the accumulated rainfall going to look like? and this is looking at the evidence of where that river spent most of their time. look at the direct hit of big sur. southern sierra will get a lot of rain at higher elevations, which is good for the fire season. that's live right now. and we will switch from high resolution radar and put the futurecast on here. we'll do another play through on this to pick out your part of the bay for tomorrow. how likely are you to see rain in the overnight hours, like 2:00, 3:00 a.m. in the north bay, pretty like

flag fire warning for us has been allowed to expire, but we still have some gusty conditions down to our southso this is the forecast model showing you just a fire danger and still some coverage. as you can see for parts of the central coast down towards southern california, as we take a put this into motion, we should have some improvement as we take this into your friday. in fact, a change in the wind flow that will help the fire crews around the mountain. fire burning in ventura county. here you can see all the areas in red. that's a red flag fire warning. and that is in place right now until 11:00 tomorrow morning, 11:00 friday morning. so here's a look at that fire as we take a look at the mountain fire in ventura county. you can see the satellite detection with the reds showing more recent detection over the past 12 hours or so. so still a very active fire. you can see a closer look here. those winds kind of funneling through this this canyon here. and as we take a look right now at the current conditions out there, there's the overall wind flow 73 degrees, winds gusting to right around

the rain is moving down towards the south bay and also towards gilroy, with some moderate to heavier ets. but this thing gets out of here as we head through tomorrow morning. just live with the spotty shower down towards the south bay at 7 a.m, and then we'll have some dry weather as we roll through tomorrow afternoon. we are looking at totals anywhere from 507 inch to about a half inch, so it's just been nice to get on the board here in november morning temperatures will begin on the cool side here. we're down in the 40s to also low 50s across the bay area. that will bring us to 48 in the tri-valley, south bay at 50. and we're also dipping down to 52 in the east bay and 47 for the north bay. daytime highs as we head through tomorrow afternoon, we'll go into the 60s. that'll bring us to 66 here in los gatos, 67 in san jose. so i think overall a pretty good day. a very similar weather here from vallejo to pleasanton down to hayward. so wherever you're going, it's going to feel pretty much the same out here across the bay area. but we'll get in on that afternoon sunshine. so i think it'

cierra here it is just as we had forecasted, we are still getting plenty of rain coming down near the higher peaks in south lake tahoe. getting a wintry mix there with a lot of that snow as well. couple of showers passing through sacramento. if i move this a bit further down, you could see we had a couple of showers that passed through. but for the most part right now in the south bay, stretching down through pretty much south of the golden gate is steering more towards dry, but we've still got that cloud cover as far as our temperatures go. we're definitely feeling cool out there. we've got 60s and 50s on the map in south san jose, 61 stretching out to morgan hill and in through parts of the north bay. look at that. we're only in the 50s now. the influence of that colder air is only going to get colder heading into the overnight hours as well. but a couple of things i want to keep in mind for you. we've got a high surf advisory in effect through saturday. we're still talking about dangerous tall waves upwards of 15ft, and also the return of king tides. we do have a coastal flood advisory in effect as well
