these dry winds across california are really fueling this fast-moving brush fire down south in la county. >> causing evacuations for thousands near pepperdine university in malibu. as of right now, there's still no containment. now, this is an aerial view from our sister station, ktla, down south. you can see just how widespread this franklin fire is at last check. almost 2000 acres have been burned. and again, this is in malibu near pepperdine university just off pacific coast highway, which is currently shut down until further notice in total were talking about 18,000 people being displaced, 8100 structures remain threatened by this fire. there's a shelter in place that has since been lifted for those at the university after an assessment of campus conditions were deemed as safe. but again, you can see they continue to try to put it out this morning. but as of right now, there's still a lot at risk. and this fire in red flag warning continues as we remain with these gusty winds. but we'll keep you updated as we get more updates from officials down south daria, i thanks a lot, michael 1

south bay. it's a little bit warmer for us this afternoon, kind of similar to last week, where everyone was mostly sitting in the 60s. then we had 70s down in the south bay. well, this week it's mostly upper 60s, but we're all going to cool down pretty fast as this new rain system starts rolling in from offshore. it's coming in from the north, so it's more cold and dense air right around the corner. we're expecting cool conditions lasting into this weekend's forecast and early next week to some more upper 50s around the corner, with some showers starting as early as tomorrow night. now we time this out. it's going to be a partly cloudy day for us for the rest of the day today. same trend tomorrow as we head into the evening hours. tomorrow night though that swat that sweeping motion of that rain system sweeps in from the north and it continues to bring in more cold and dense air. we're going to be under a frost advisory tonight. similar conditions tomorrow, with overnight lows dropping well below average as we wake up thursday morning. on the back end of that, there will be some lingering showers for us. the roads will already be slick f

morning, including all the lights at golden gate park in areas of ocean beach, the sunset and moving down southhat outage in pacifica, impacting, you know, at least a couple thousand people in that area down south in montara as well. that's past half moon bay as well in el granada. and the one in half moon bay seems to be pretty significant. this is all grown substantially, i would say, in the last 30 to 45 minutes, as this map continues to update, we're seeing impacts in menlo park and san jose, as well as san mateo, millbrae and parts of san leandro all the way east to dublin and pleasanton. so really across the bay area. so check the outage map. a lot of these outages appear to be will be fixed rather within an hour or two, but some have been delayed to 3 or 4:00 this afternoon. so we'll keep you posted on that as we learn more. now in the north bay, where homeowners and first responders are bracing for strong winds and heavy rainfall, all of this as they're still cleaning up from the last storm, which caused significant flooding. here's abc seven news reporter cornell bernard, reporting fro
