we have had a cool day here across south florida. morning low in the 50's. fort lauderdale miami mid 60's for the keys. then the cloud cover kept the afternoon highs in check. in the low 70's. right now everyone is in the 60's across south florida under mostly cloudy skies. pressure is rising. the whipped out of the north north west. humidity up there at 73 percent. take a look at the radar because things have changed since this afternoon. the models were hinting at most of the moisture staying down by extreme southern miami-dade county and the keys but over the last few hours all the moisture has come up north and it is aiming for the main land. we do believe that a lot of this rain will make its way into south florida tonight and stick around throughouthe day tomorrow. and that is all due to a front that has stalled out right across south florida and will continue to drag some moisture our way. so beginning at midnight we are going to see some more of that rain starting to move in across south florida. our in house model shows that by 5:30 in the morning s

a south florida teenager, a 13-year-old boy shot over his christmas break from school will finally be leaving the hospital this morning. it has been two weeks since shots rang out in that south miami-dade neighborhood, hitting the 13-year-old multiple times, immedtely putting him into the hospital. nbc6 reporter michael spearss live for us at nicklaus children's hospital. while this is fantastic thing for him and his family that he's coming home, the person responsible for this, that person is still out there somewhere. >> reporter: that's right. as his family prepares to bring him home, police tell us the search is still on two weks him here. the 13-year-old eric watson jr. was shot three times, as you mentioned, rushed here to the hospital, critical condition. but he survived. it's miraculous and amazing. his family tells us they're extremely grateful. he was shot over winter break outside his grandmother's home in her neighborhood as he hung out with his friends. investigators say someone just pulled up, open fire, firing at least a half dozen times, hitting him and taking off. so,

this batch is the one that's still departing parts of south florida and it's certainly persisted well into the afternoon for portions of miami-dade and the florida keys. we'll do a tour here on the radar. we're going to pan into the metro area. broward, yououe been dry for a couple hours now. things have been pretty quiet in broward. even saw a little bit of sun trying to peek through at times between clouds. but keep in mid, as i zoom out further here, there's more rain on the way off to our northwest. there it is. this line of showers and storms already arriving near naples. should be arriving in our metro area in southeastern florida 8:00, 9:00. then later on into the florida keys where at this hour it is still raining. take a look outside here. still clouds out there. 72 degrees is the current eventually we're going to get more rain in here as you know. there is a flood watch in effect due to the possibility of the rain on saturated ground that some floods might be occurring. here's the look at the map here. we've got low pressure crossing the state dragging a front behind it. wit
