there are no weather advisories in effect for south florida. it's going to be days before we get another squall line or cold front moving through our area. i i ell you what, in an el nino winter, especially as powerful as this el nino is, this goes to show you that any front moving through south florida has the potential for severe weather. nobody forecast this severe weather for this morning. there was no awareness of it. until about :00 or 3:00 this morning. that's when ryan phillips took over and obviously warned as much as possible as to what was going to be going on. we ended up with these tornadoes in northeastern miami-dade county, and the one up in palm beach county, both ef-1 tornadoes, causing winds between 85 and 110 miles per hour. with the coconut cree tornado a few weeks ago. we also have an ef-0 that happened since january. today, many other reportsof wind damage, hail, and strong winds in excess of miles per hour. as far as the forecast is concerned, i'll bring that to ou in just a few minutes. back to you. >> all right, john, t

it was very chilly across south florida. barely reaching highs in the mid 60s with that strong breeze. 47 in homestead, 57 degrees as far south as mart. so that cool air ttling as far south as the keys. winds anywith where between 10 to 15 miles per hour. currently temperatures are anywheree between three and ten degrees cooler than what we woke we do have some mid and high level clouds by the keys in the gulf of mexico. our atmosphere is very dry thanks to high pressure just to the north of us. behind that high pressure is a series of fronts we're going to continue to watch. yet anothth front bringing snow over portions of the midwest into the green bay packers. that's going to keep us under a very cool atmospheric change for@ us here in south florida. if you wanted it to feel like winter for more than a day, this is the week for you because you're going to need those sweaters and jackets for some time. 15 degrees in minneapolis. much of the nation waking up to winter temperatures anywhere between the 20s, 30s and 40s from t

no rain expected in south florida. it's not really raining in the florida keys right now. we're not expecting any rainifor the next several days. numerous reports of severe weather early this morning. mainly between 6:00 and 8:00 this morning. and of course, toadoes, two ef-1 tornadoes, in broward and northeastern miami-dade county. hail as big as nickel-sized hail in many spots. several wind reports, or wind damage reports. many of these concentrating in southern broward, into northern miami-dade county. the rest of the metro arr did not see nearly as many severe weather reports. the winds gust to about 62 miles per hour. now, things are calmer right now. it is cloudy. but we're not seeing any rain. it's 78 degrees right now in miami. the front is about to cross through south florida. all those showers and thunderstorms are not even on the map anymore. theve moved well out to the east. actually the front has lost strength. asas originally expected. but certainly did not happen as night. as the front moves through, we'll see northerly winds settle into south florida. that
