south. we continue with the rain band which has stalled across parts of scotland bringing hill snow. looms that this milder has been pushing up from the south and west during last night and through today. you can see on the radar picture from earlier, the rain eventually clearing away from the eastern side of the country to stop snow for the pennines and certainly across much of central and northern scotland, where it is still falling across the grampians and the highlands. a heavy system or rain affecting the east coast of scotland. a whole host of issues there. furthersouth, scotland. a whole host of issues there. further south, the dry spell with a little bit of brightness and very mild air, top temperatures around 14. that will feel springlike, the highest values we have seen this month so far. it won't last long, the next rain band pushing in from the west, spreading across the country overnight followed by some heavy showers across wales, into the midlands and south west. the rain band merges with the existing one in scotland so rain, sleet and with the existing one in scotland

and so as we go to the south bay, we are seeing some of the heavier rain now moving just south of morgan hill, approaching gilroy, and we'll see that pushing on farther to the south. we've also seen some bands of rain moving through the east bay around mt. diablo, moving over toward san ramon and antioch as well as discovery bay. then for the north bay we've seen a pretty widespread light rain coming down, going from northern marin county, sonoma county over toward napa county as well and some light snow happening in some of our upper elevations in our north bay hills. we see all of the snow coming down in the sierra while we see widespread rain. notice the reds and yellows have shifted to the south. this is the core of the atmospheric river that will stall to our south and then start to roll back to the north as we go into this evening. but in between we're still looking at spotty rain. once again the rain gets heavier tonight as it starts to move back to the north. there will even be a chance of a few isolated thunderstorms. we're watching out for a chance of lightning as well as gusty wind

the heavy rain in the debris flows in the water down around watsonville, san martine, south of san jose, morgan hill in gilroy, so when i come back, we'll look at the model. there's more rain coming, and we'll let you know what you can expect in the mountains as well. bill will see then. thank you tonight, a flash flood warning remains in effect for areas burned by several large wildfires. in monterey county. at least 20 homes in the south selina's area were damaged by flooding and mud flows during the storm last night. today, some of those homeowners came back to get their horses that were trapped in their stalls that wanted to get them to higher ground along river road. you could see thick piles of mud that flowed down from the burn scars from the wildfires last year. heavy rains are causing flooding concerns in the south bay storm drains and some creeks briefly overflowed onto some roads and creaks in san jose. officials say there are three areas of concern tonight. the area of ross creek, the guadalupe creek near alma road and the penitential creek. but for the most part, the damage was minimal.
