and nearly a month later, they're still waiting for south jersey gas to fix the mistake. today nbc10 sat down with the vice president of customer service. nbc10's doug shimell joins us now live in gloucester township. doug this is the first time we're hearing from the company on camera. what are they doing to make this right? >> reporter: well they said they have identified the 12,000 customers who not only got bills that were too high but got bills that were too low. they say the cause was both a computer glitch and a snowstorm. he knew south jersey gas had read his meter during the bitter cold and was expecting a massive bill. >> for february and december it was $29. i'm likeover joyed but i'm thinking later it will come back to bite me. >> reporter: mike knew something was wrong. >> i figured two months, can't be $29, so i'm thinking it should have been $300 or something. at least. >> reporter: the utility says 12,000 customers in seven south jersey counties got bills that were too low because a new computer saw the high winter usage as a mistake and lowered them. >> w
