it's going to be situated mainly to south jersey. i'll go over all the details about what you can expect in your neighborhood, how much snow coming up when i see you again. but for now let's take a closer look at the roads with jillian mele watching for any trouble spots. >> good morning, britney. in the lehigh valley this is route 22 at airport road. and the roads are just wet so far. same thing goes for i-78 and 295. headed to bucks county you see that light snowfall coming down. this is a live look. 202 parkway and bristol road. again, the roads are wet. same thing in center city philadelphia. vine street expressway, free of any accidents, which is good news. it is quiet as far as traffic goes on the highways. not dealing with any delays. and no big accidents out there at all. for drivers in delaware if you're heading out the door, this is what it looks like on 495 right at philadelphia pike. 495 is quiet as far as the traffic goes. and same thing for the majors in new jersey. tracy? >>> our first alert team coverage continues wit

the snowfall is tending to linger now in delaware and south jersey and that secondary snow band we'rehing up to the north should be staying fairly light. the bulk of the moisture is down to the south, but this entire storm system is going to be moving offshore in the next few hours here. so here's a look at future weather and we're starting right now in time and there you see the snow south jersey and delaware continues for 7:00 and by 8:00 9:00 we should start to see the back edge moving into new jersey and delaware fairly quickly. by 9:00 we expect to be done with the snow and overnight tonight, it gets cold. by midnight 1:00 in the morning and well below freezing through the rest of the area and this will cause for ice to be developing and any slush on the roadways and that will all be re-freezing and take a look at the early morning hours tomorrow. your morning commute, again the concern and any snow left on the road and any ice developing because temperatures will be well below freezing. take a look at temperatures right now. they've been dropping quickly throughout the day. 21 i

and nearly a month later, they're still waiting for south jersey gas to fix the mistake. today nbc10 sat down with the vice president of customer service. nbc10's doug shimell joins us now live in gloucester township. doug this is the first time we're hearing from the company on camera. what are they doing to make this right? >> reporter: well they said they have identified the 12,000 customers who not only got bills that were too high but got bills that were too low. they say the cause was both a computer glitch and a snowstorm. he knew south jersey gas had read his meter during the bitter cold and was expecting a massive bill. >> for february and december it was $29. i'm likeover joyed but i'm thinking later it will come back to bite me. >> reporter: mike knew something was wrong. >> i figured two months, can't be $29, so i'm thinking it should have been $300 or something. at least. >> reporter: the utility says 12,000 customers in seven south jersey counties got bills that were too low because a new computer saw the high winter usage as a mistake and lowered them. >> w

across northern dell in through much of south jersey. and 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. farther to the south. how much is likely to fall by the time it's all over? over 2 to 4 inches toward the lehigh valley and poconos. that's why there's no warning up there. but 4 to 7 inches in the philadelphia area. to the south, 6 to 9. the highest total may just be to the south. we'll get into more detail on who's going to get what and when with the seven-day in a few minutes. >>> weather delays are already causing problems at philadelphia international airport. you can expect more delays. keep this number handy. 1-800-phl-gate. >>> now, we head out to drexel hill and nbc10's doug shimell. >> this winter's taken its toll on road crews who are getting ready once again. >> reporter: exactly. taking a toll on the crews, their equipment the piles of salt and the budget. they've had to do this so many times this winter that penndot says it spent $31 million on snow and ice storms when it only budgeted $29.8. >> tonight will be the 25th of the season and 21st since january 3rd. that's about 60 days, 23 events

also into parts of south jersey. all this pink you see, that is sleet and freezing rain. even through delaware. now, we have to look a little farther to the south to see any green. and this would show us where the warmer temperatures are and where rain is. eventually we'll start to see this rain line moving up through the area and then that will be the case overnight tonight. as far as these temperatures are concerned, we're still below freezing. 20s north and west. right below freezing for philadelphia, south jersey and delaware for most spots. this is why we're seeing freezing rain occurring. we're seeing that sleet occurring. kind of a mixed bag depending on where you live. here's a look at future weather. for the rest of the this evening, we'll continue to see precip. it is going to change. the pink where we see the ice occurring, that's eventually going to change over to rain. this particular model tries to change it by 10:00 tonight. so, as the atmosphere starts to warm up and the surface warms up as well, we will see rain falling and tomorrow we keep on warming up c

we could see heavy bands in south jersey and delaware. by the time the morning commute comes around i think most of the area will be dry. 7 a.m. we could have showers mainly south of philadelphia. for the most part we see big improvements in the afternoon. sunshine breaking through. this could, in fact, give us temperatures around 60 degrees tomorrow afternoon. a lot of warm air down to our south trying to move in. still, we have 80s through much of the southeast. we'll be staying in the 50s for the rest of this afternoon and tomorrow, like i mentioned near 60 degrees. so the rain continues tonight, areas of fog, 43 for the low in philadelphia. tomorrow early showers for some. fog around too early. then through the afternoon we're clearing and milder. some areas could be in the low 60s tomorrow. thursday we'll be sunny, nice and dry. temperatures will be in the low 50s. a little cooler on thursday but i think we will take it because it's still going to feel fairly mild outside. friday, same thing. we'll see more clouds around late showers

in central delaware and south jersey it will take longer, from 6 to 9:00. i want to show you the models which are showing more snowfall totals than yesterday at this point. because it will take longer for the system to get out of here. the reason we're going to 8 inches of snow, the first couple of inches are melting. 37 degrees in philadelphia. it's going to take a while for this to become difficult to travel in the city city itself. 4 to 8. allentown, 2 to 4. this is the bulls eye, a good 8 inches of snow, interior south jersey and delaware. that's because it will take longer and it will be colder in the afternoon when it is pushing out of here. snow and falling temperatures, 37 now, we'll be in the 20s this afternoon and that will allow the snowfall to accumulate, especially in south jersey and delaware where it will be snowing. in the overnight hours record cold 12, frigid, 26 degrees, normally we would be about 49. saturday milder, 38 degrees. sunday partly sunny, 43 as you spring forward. we're in a nice, dry stretch we're looking at clouds and sun 45

south jersey assemblyman paul moriarty co-sponsored the bill. mobile cameras can either be placed on a police vehicle or on the officer's uniform. an extra $25 charge for each drunk driving conviction will pay for the cameras. moriarty introduced the measure not long after this dashcam video captured his dui arrest in 2012. the washington township police officer who arrested him was acquitted last week of false reporting and official misconduct. >>> officers in a burlington county community are introducing a new way to keep a close eye on criminal activity. the morristown police department wants businesses and homeowners to register their outside surveillance cameras. they say that footage could help them solve crimes. there's an effort like this one in philadelphia as well. they say all cameras will feed to a secure location that only police will be able to access your information. >>> happening today, secretary of state john kerry will be talking about climate change in washington. he will give remarks at an event called road to paris climate

rain in south jersey parts of jersey and sleet mixing in. morning commute, we have the snow and some of the snow you see the darker shade of purple. that is the heavy snow that is really setting up south and east of philadelphia as we head through the morning hours. 1:00, still snowing. temperatures are dropping down to 27 degrees in philadelphia 24 in allentown. and then finally by about 6:00 the snow will be exiting the coast and then temperatures really will be nosediving by friday morning. expected snowfall not much changed from yesterday. 2-4 inches. the bulk of the viewing area and most of the viewing area seeing 4-8 inches much -- inches. we get more than 4-8 inches it is the biggest storm of the season. and the best bet of 8 inches across interior south jersey and central and southern delaware. this will really be the sweet spot and the heaviest snow south not north. and the early sleet changing to snow and the morning commute nasty. and can't stress enough if you can stay home a good idea. not only will the road be a problem but visi
