. >> right now at 6:00 devastation after a south jersey mother died in a house fire overnight and her neighbors could not save her in time. good evening. friends of the victim tell nbc 10 they tried desperately to save her but the fire was to intense. tasha roots was talking with neighbors outside her home late last night. what her neighbors did not know is that would be the last time they would see her. nbc 10's randy gyllenhaal has the latest. >> reporter: the heavy smoke from this early morning fire woke up the entire neighborhood. the woman who lives inside this home was trapped in the burning house. friends and neighbors say they tried breaking those windows to get the victim out but firefighters later found her body inside. friends and family identified the victim as 45-year-old tasha roots, she's lived here in salem for years and neighbors say she was chatting with them just last night, everything seemed fine but by 3:00 in the morning her house was fully engulfed in flames. witnesses described smoke pouring out of the windows as relatives and friends tried desperately to get h

the 50s, the lehigh valley, suburbs and into delaware, south jersey, the jersey shore in the 50s and0s right now for philadelphia. but it is cooler down. in south jersey, yesterday these were all in the 60s, running a good 10 degrees cooler than yesterday. 59 in pitmann, voorhees is 56 degrees. look at medford at 55 this morning and 54 in lumberton. a beautiful start to the day. like yesterday, the humidity will stay low with plenty of sunshine. the humidity, highest in the morning, drops in the afternoon as those temperatures climb. we didn't see that yesterday afternoon. 39%. that's at 4:00 this afternoon. it stays low in delaware and at the shore. a little bit lower than yesterday. a warm day today and a warming trend, though, will have us back in the 90s at the end of the week. allentown, 90 degrees on friday. upper 80s in wildwood. philadelphia gets beautiful weather over the next few days but the humidity starts creeping back in at the end of the weekend. a nice one for dover. low 80s. by the end of the week it will be in the low 90s. what we won't see is wet weather. satellite

areas like new jersey some parts are seeing showers now. 74 in parts of south jersey and also if you move lehigh valley 73 to delaware 75. parts of the delaware beaches have been seeing some of those storms. your radar is showing us as we move around the region you go from very light spots maybe making it to the ground although this light green indicates sometimes not yet making it to the surface, lehigh valley moving into the suburbs and then delaware and as well parts of new jersey along the shore. that's where we do see some showers with rain making it to the ground, mostly the light greens indicating a light rain, the pockets of yellow orange indicating a little heavier. these showers are mostly moving out, cape may getting spot showers as well as avalon. later today a line of storms moves our direction with the cold front and potential for us to see strong to severe thunderstorms is there. we will check in on that possibility, how long it lasts, the timing of all that coming up in a while. >>> here is a live look now at the olympic flame burning brightly in rio de janeiro. a bra
