not looking too good for south jersey and delaware. thanks for joining us at 6:00 i'm iain page. >> i'm lucy noland. we are tracking the nasty weather across our area. fox 29's weather authority has you covered. kathy orr you were talking about this last night even. >> we talked about a line of severe normals moving through that still happening through south jersey even if you're catching a break through philadelphia look what's on the back side. more heavy rain through the lee his valley and our northern and western suburbs pushing toward the northeast first let's focus on the storms through millville, cumberland county extenting across the bay into central delaware. this is a severe cell right here moving toward the northeast. all of this moving eastward as you see it in south jersey. so some strong to severe storms moving east at about 50 miles an hour. they will be in egg harbor by 6:19. pleasantville by 6:24 and in atlantic city with torrential downpours by 6:32. so just minutes away. i want to zoom in on cumberland county. bridge

the rest will pass through south jersey before it starts to weaken. but let's take a closer look where it's starting to fall right now. a few sprinkles in ben salem to warrington. and a little steadier as we get farther to the northern parts of our viewing area this morning. here's the hour-by-hour forecast. we go to 7:00 a.m.. i think the model is going a little too widespread with this, but does a nice job with the timing and indicatiing where th rain is passing. new castle county, maybe starting to get into parts of kent county, but missing up on sufficient foak suffolk county. now the rain is mostly over south jersey, it's moving out of the lehigh valley in berks county. and the sun is pushing on in. the sun is just forcing on out the rain. look at that, we've got a lot of sunshine by 1:00 over the area. we stay mostly clear through the rest of the day, as well. so today the second half of the day looks very good. but the morning, you'll have to deal with some of the rain outside. here's the forecast highs for our weekend. 76 in philadelphia and t

much lighter rain, but we got the sprinkles now over south jersey and the shore. ttle more steady rain through philadelphia and up all the way to reading and allentown. you see the heavier rains, kind of just missing us here into more northern jersey, but mercer county getting a little hit now through trenton. here's the closer view, starting with parts of chester county into delco, even clipping new castle county, as it starts to move into south jersey, it's considerably lighter. a little steadier rain in philadelphia. you see through parts of bucks county, now some spots that are weakening just a tad, but still some light rain. and we'll go all the way up to allentown here. this is where it's been the steediest throughout our morning hours, but none of us will see rain for the whole day. this is for the first half of the day. so we go through 8:00 a.m., still seeing rain on the future model. from 8:00 to 10:00, now it's more focused over south jersey, moving out of allentown and berks county. maybe a lingeri ining stronger shower. and by 1:00 in the afternoon, it

good news we are starting to see weakening in the section across portions of south jersey but looking down toward delaware that is certainly most potent portion of the line and still very intense but we do have a little cell severe thunderstorm in southern new jersey. watching rehoboth beach as we looked at image quiet but there is that severe thunderstorm warning. is there severe thunderstorm line moving its way 50 miles an hour. warnings in effect for kent, sus zest county delaware until 6:30, 6:45 for possibility of 60-mile an hour wind. seaford is about to get this continuing lightening, look at those lightening strikes, so yeah, delaware beaches, start to head indoors in and around lewis, delaware, rehoboth beach expecting this line to approach within the next 30 minutes. same case for shore we are dealing with this severe thunderstorm warning and this cell is moving east bound at 40 to 50 miles an hour so making its way toward dennis at 6:20, before 6:30 reaching sea isle sit a long the coast. we have had numerous storm reports as it moved across the area. thunderstorm, wind dam

monday morning could be wet across south jersey and delaware. during the afternoon, everybody sees the cold front. if you don't get the rain in the morning, everybody will see the cold front during the late afternoon hours, that will trigger showers and storms. some of the storms could be on the heavier side. gusty winds, maybe winds up to 50, 55 miles per hour and drenching downpours shown by the reds and the oranges. one or two storms could be strong to possibly severe. that takes us into tuesday, an upper level low sits over top us. monday a mainly cloudy day, tuesday, mostly cloudy, wednesday, thursday, friday, we see the clouds dissipate and get into sunshine. here's the anticipated rainfall totals. it depends on where the heaviest downpours set up. some locations up to 2 inches. others if you don't see a downpour, quarter inch to a half inch. yesterday we topped out at 77. today, 82. winds are light out of the south at 5 to 15 miles per hour. this is the trouble spot in the viewing area, the poconos, it's all right up there right now, the

a few severe thunderstorm warnings, a new one issued for parts of the south jersey until 6:00. we have secondary warning until 6:00 o'clock for a large portion of the burlington county, that includes mount laurel i, leading edge is approaching you right now, pemberton, trenton business to deal with this line. very heavy rainfall embedded gusty wind, seeing rain on the eastern edge of the philadelphia stretching in haddon, palmyra seeing some rain. heavy rain about to pick up in bensalem. all this moving east/northe at 50 miles an hour. pretty fast paced and yet head up in delaware check out all this lightening nearly continuing, downpour activity, and that likelihood of strong gusty wind in excess of 60 miles per hour for parts of the delaware severe thunderstorm warnings in effect until 5:45. so, for this evening, thunderstorms, strong to severe dealing with rain cooled air when that rain moves through, temperatures dropping back off in the low to mid 70's. overnight tonight severe weather threat will come to an end by late evening hours but we will deal with lingering showers
