investigation goes on into a deadly overnight crash, one that shut down a south bay freeway for more than two hours. ktvu fox 2's janine de la vega joining us live now. you are in san jose and you say investigators still aren't sure if there were two or three cars involved, janine. >> reporter: they are still trying to figure that out. two for sure now. it's opinion raining out here all morning. it stopped a little while ago. chp told me that when this accident happened on 101 and de la cruz it was dry at the time. they are still trying to figure out why the car was stopped in the fast lanes. this crash happened before 12:30 this morning. witnesses say a white pickup truck hit the white sedan which was stopped near the center median of northbound 101. imim-- the impact sent the traffic on the right shoulder. the driver was trapped inside and firefighters were unable to save that person. it's unknown if the deceased is a man or a woman. the chp said the driver of the pickup works for in hand out burger and was driving a company vehicle. he was uninjured and is cooperating with authorities. there's still a lot of questions tha

south bay commuters get through a major interchange. a brand-new flyover ramp opened this morning in san jose. it's at the interstate 280/880 interchange. janine de laga is there and janine, you drove on the new ramp just after it opened. how was it? >> reporter: you know, tori, it's a bit jarring. it's different. it's gonna take time to get used to. if you are traveling on northbound 280. >> you will en-- if you are traveling on northbound -- northbound 280, you will encounter two ramps. there's the one that takes you to highway 17, the one to the right. that's brand new. it takes you to 880. this new confickration opened up at about 4:30 this morning. if affects those driving on northbound 280 to get to 880. pay attention to the signs. there is a separate flyover ramp that takes you to 880. the transition is pretty smooth before drivers were forced to access 880 by taking the stevens creek exit and mixing with the local traffic. it was an area that always bottlenecked. >> now people going from 280 going to oakland and further north, don't have to do that movement. they have that direct fly overramp. there's no intermixing, no weaving. it will be m
