that's going to increase wave heights 2 to 4 feet for south lake tahoe. and we are seeing that cloud cover increasing out there tonight in the bay area. same for this year as well, because you actually do have a chance for some very light snow showers and light valley rain during the overnight hours on tuesday morning and even continuing through around noon for tuesday as well. btt then later into the afternoon, dry, sunny outlook. so it is going to be a very fast-moving storm and a weak one at that. just tracking upwards of 2 inches of snow. but snow levels are going to drop to as low as 3,000 feet. rain for valley, specifically south lake tahoe. just about a 10th of an inch of rain or less. but the one thing that we're really going to keep an eye on in the coming days is the sierra snowpack because we are tracking rapidly diminishing the sears snow totals because of that melting. is that issue right now for the sierra? because of those above average temperatures. but thankfully we are going to see a cooler forecast on tuesday that is going to help preve

we're tracking a nice smooth commute for those of you heading in and out of south lake tahoe. i-80 at donner summit, as you could see. >>blue skies overhead and snow melting rapidly because of these above average temperatures. the good news is we are going to see a little bit of a pattern change, especially for the sierra staying dry. and fortunately for us in the bay area. but we're expecting valley rain and snow showers throughout the highest peaks of this year. up upwards of 6 inches of fresh powder expected in about a quarter of an inch of rain or less for our sierra valleys. this is going to continue monday through tuesday by tuesday night already drying out with that storm track shifting well to the south and east. let's take a look at what you can expect for this year. the lowest peaks could see anywhere from about one to 3 inches of snow. but it is also going to be a bit of a wind maker there. we could see wind speeds ranging from 30 to 45 miles per hour with isolated gusts in that 50 to 60 mile per hour range and we certainly need the snow. so it is going to be much n
