it is a boot and that part of louisiana that sort of bridges the west to the south and the creole in the cage and and the western culture and southern culture. it started at the end of the 18th century, there were very few intrepid spanish and french explorers across the area. it's always been a very remote part of louisiana. because you can't get to lake charles by water from the mississippi. so it has always been separate and apart in terms of that. when the louisiana purchase was made in 1803, this part of louisiana were not part of the purchase because by definition, the purpose of the purchase was to buy everything drained by the mississippi. we are not drained by mississippi we are drained by the river. because of that, for about 50 years after the purchase, this part of louisiana was essentially a no man's land with an undefined border between the new united states and the empire spain. it's sort of apart and aside for a lot of the early years. in the 1820s after the war of 1812, battle of new orleans, a lot of people from kentucky and tennessee, they came down to fight. some

south carolina. within 36 hours you can startr expect hurricane conditions. watch out if you are crossing the coastal areas of texas and louisianaould see some tropical development there the next few days. and we won't be talking about it much because we'll be talking about florence. florence is still incredibly strong, 140-mile-an-hour storm. and it will go through a couple eyewall replacement cycles. that means the center of the storm gets so tight it collapses on itself. the wind field extends out farther than it had been previously. we'll see it fluctuate from a 4 to a 5 the next couple days. it slows down and gets trapped for a couple days. once it gets trapped it's hard to say where it will go. it could stay off the coast for a while. it will just destroy the coast. but all kind of moisture and rain will fall. you see this wiggly stuff where it loses the direction of what's going to happen for two days. because of that we expect rainfall totals to be extreme. we had numbers 12 to 15 inches. now those numbers moved to the south. we don't know where it will make landfall. and the numbers will change based off of that. anywhe
