patrick: a south carolina man is charged with attempted murder after being accused of opening fire on police. investigators in hampton county say 27-year-old malcolm orr opened fire on officer when they store. one officer was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. charlotte police say a drunk man stole an officer's patrol car and crashed it in the woods.. the officer left the keys in the car after exiting the cruiser at a local business. police then say this 22-year-old jumped into the unlocked cruiser and sped off. a short time later, the vehicle was found crashed in the woods, totaled. the man was found a short time later and is now in jail, facing several charges, including driving while impaired. a man is critically injured after falling 20 feet underground in eastern tennessee. the man in his 60's fell while exploring caves outside knoxville. he and a group were about half a mile underground when he slipped on rocks, stumbled, and fell into a pit. that set off a 12 hour rescue effort. the group from atlanta had the proper training and permission to be in the cave. coming up,
