now that the democratic national convention is over, a familiar sight is back in south philly. cars, a lot of them, in the median on south broad street. we all know it's illegal. but not enforced. the political action committee fifth square wants to change that. nbc 10 discovered fifth square's petition online, asking the mayor's office to enforce the median parking ban we saw during the dnc, saying it would make the streets safer for pedestrians. philadelphia mayor jim kenney's office sent us this statement which says in part, "before any changes are made we'd need to have a dialogue with people most affected by those concerns, which are the residents of the sounding community in south phil philly." the south philadelphia homeowners we spoke to don't want to see a change. >> we spend like a good 20 minutes sometimes looking for parking down here. >> the street looks great when there are no cars on the street. but as a practical matter it's very, very challenging to find parking places. >> reporter: bob capana has lived in south philly for more than two decades. he says during s

nbc 10 cameras captured dougherty outside his home this morning in south philly. at least three locations connected to dougherty were raided this morning. state police are assisting the feds at dougherty's home and pub in south philadelphia. also, at ibew union headquarters and union hall in spring garden. sky force 10 is also over philadelphia city hall. that's where fbi is raiding the offices of city councilman, bobby henon, and the fbi confirms to nbc 10 it also has investigators at henon's northeast philadelphia district office, all part of the same investigation. we have a team of reporters covering this story. we begin with nbc 10's rosemary connors live outside dougherty's home in south philadelphia. and you just got some new video this morning? >> reporter: i did, tracy. within the past 15 minutes, we watched federal investigators come out of this home here. this home belonging to family members of john dougherty. and as you can see in this new video, they brought out with them about three boxes of evidence, also a computer. investigators here on scene are

reaction from union leader daugherty about why he thinks the fbi is focused on him in his home in south philly. we begin with rosemary connors. >> reporter: very busy day here in south philadelphia. federal investigators searched john dourty's home. they say they're cooperating with this investigation. >> i've been under scrutiny my whole life. maybe it's because i win too much. >> reporter: forced to wait outside his house for most of the day, john dourty watched as they bagged evidence and computers in their cars. the feds searched both daugherty's row home and the house next door where his family members live. >> nothing in my house has changed in tep years. i'm the most vetted guy in philadelphia. >> reporter: a similar scene to this one played out a decade ago when the fbi raided his south philadelphia row home during a different investigation. there's no word what the feds are looking for this time, and representatives with local 98 tell us it's still unclear to them. they say they're only aware of reports that claim the raid is part of an investigation into ibew's finances. >> allegatio
