first the president and first lady are going to greet him at the south portico.y brief remarks from each. we're not to expect either leader to say anything too political. francis is the 266th pope in church history but just the third to visit the white house. when the pope is done on pennsylvania avenue his specially outfitted jeep pope mobile is going to drive down 15th street, make a turn near the world war ii memorial near the washington monument and another turn at 15th and pennsylvania toward treasury and that's the whole show. as the pope gets closer and closer to heading to this part of town, you can tell that security is getting tighter and tighter in the last hour or so. helicopters have started hovering, but still nobody in the crowd seems too concerned. there is a lot of smiling, singing, chanting. and energy and just energy. in the crowd behind us they're still going to let people in for another hour and a half. but in the turn here at 15th and constitution, as far as we can see, it's about five people deep. in every single place alone the fenceline.
