fires are burning in the area, cal fire is mopping up a 30-acre brush fire this afternoon in south san jose. this fire started at 3:00 on monterrey street. that smoke from that fire was so thick, firefighters were forced to close down the road. >> take a look, this is live from our abc7 east bay hills cam, where you can see that haze in front of mt. diablo. we're also getting reports of falling ash near the fire. more on the fire danger, drew? >> this is all indicative of just how strong these winds have been this afternoon. they've been gusting frequently, over 35 miles an hour. so that has been a major factor as to why many of us have seen smoke so far away from this fire in solano county. winds right now still on the active side. we have gusts in the hills, up to 35 miles an hour at mt. diablo. as we get you closer into that fire in solano county, winds out of the north, racing 23 miles an hour so what that does is it takes that smoke and sends it as far south as san jose. we do have that red flag warning still in effect overnight. and we do anticipate these winds will remain rather busy
