and a breeze anywhere from 13 to 21 miles per hour out of the south and the southeast. and gusts as high already from 28 to 32 miles per hour. and i want to show you the big picture in terms of what is happening in the atmosphere. very juicy and unstable. you can see all the green on the water vapor imagery. an area of low pressure in the gulf of mexico. a cold front out ahead of it. mid to upper level winds out of the southwest, at the surface out of the south. and that is what leads to the veering of the winds in the atmosphere as we go up. that could leads to tornadoes and waterspouts. lightning, gusty winds possible the slight risk of a tornado. high-risk occurrence of a small craft advisory throughout the cloudy and stormy with gusty downpours and that will last even as we head into your thursday as we'll continue with that unsettled atmosphere. some heavy rain at times localized flooding possible, then clearing, skies, cooler breeze behind the cold front. it will be beautiful this weekend with high pressure in control providing for comfortable temperatures during

we are well above freezing, that's one region -- reason that especially from the triangle south and southeast we aren't expecting accumulation. mainly as we go toward the south, rainfall. up and roxboro it has dropped south hill, 42 in rocky mount, fayetteville at about 41 degrees. taking a look at the satellite and radar, one thing we will notice recently as with the upper-level disturbance coming across and band of precipitation associated with that spreading our direction it has started to diminish over the mountains of north carolina. that is a trend that will continue over the next couple of hours and we will see that diminishing trend move across our part of the state as we get into the late morning to midday. low pressure also off the coast, that will be passing by well-off to the southeast. the upper-level distbance making a quick pass across north carolina. and on future cast, rain increasing from the last couple of hours, snow to the northwest and probably a mixed zone where we can tilt with borderline temperatures, even back and forth between patchy rain and patchy light snow. by t
