this is about 45 minutes south tallahassee. how's it looking? to be rough. we are basically in the line of fire. a lot of little towns all along the big bend area. that's south of tallahassee, and when high tide came in, the golf overtook the beach. and look at that. that gazebo is underwater. people are evacuating the area. it has been nasty. the wind has been picking up. and the rain has been and, the street here, it is getting ready to flight as well. anthe people who live here are getting out even one of the channels here basically about to overflow. we got an up close look at what the storm surge is doing. and, breaking up into the gulf. and and, the power was turned off to this island a few hours ago. people are evacuating about 30 miles away in tallahassee. and they haven't been directly hit by hurricane since 1985 they are prepared. the state campus is closed and people here know that they need to get out. this is not a safe place to be. anours you will want to move out. we are getting closer to tallahassee. branches come down in the area. coming up,

we're about 60 miles south of tallahassee. wicked weather moving through last night. we just had a chance to drive around. there are a lot of trees down. homes damaged. nothing too serious in this area. southeast of where we are it flooded much worse. some people were trapped in their homes. firefighters had to go in >> the sun is up and the cleanup begins. trees down in the road. snapped by the strong winds overnight. a lot of rain, and look at this. docks underwater from the storm surge. but in carrabelle, at least, hurricane hermine didn't pack the punch the locals hoped for. still, though, there was some damage when the water rose it came up on homes along the ocean. waves crashing into the live here left for higher ground. >> we had a rush of water come in here. of course it bothers us because of the boats. we had all of help down here tonight retying boats. >> at morings marina crews stayed up all night long checking on boats as the storm surged. >> just when the feeder bands come up it raises the water pretty good. we've had to go around and shut the power off

south of daytona beach. this is something else that we're watching for. not just high winds and flooding but a possibility of flooding in so it will impact tallahassee later on this afternoon and into the evening and then moves to the north. the latest locations, again, just to the south of the tallahassee area. winds are 75 miles an hour moving north-northeast at 14. on this track, it will move close to the coast and then off our coast. yesterday it looked like it would move more inland. it will still impact the beaches. we've got more showers and thunderstorms developing in our area right now not related to hermine and amelia has the latest on those. >> exactly, doug. before hermine moves into our area which looks to be later saturday, we still have a few days to get to. here's what we're tracking on storm team 4 radar. widely scattered showers. you can see heavy rainfall with the brighter colors here. it's moving to the south and east. currently, we're talking about temperatures right now around 80 degrees. ou scattered showers, an isolated thunderstorm. we have the bruce spring teen concert, can't rule out rain for that. tomorrow, looking really nice.
