winter weather advisory way down to our south and west. here's culpeper, warrenton, dale city. s all going to be focusing down to the south. so, where we are, not even under the advisory. winter storm warnings are in place across far southwestern virginia, where it's already snowing from roanoke down to blacksburg, virginia tech, hokies fans getting snow today, and more moisture across deeper parts of tennessee and western north carolina. the main area of low pressure we've been tracking since back when it was in the desert southwest is now aiming for the southeastern coast of north carolina. and on that track, it's just not going to come far enough north to throw the moisture in far enough to get us much in the way of accumulations. so, i do think we'll have light rain drops to start changing with, mixing over to some snowflakes by later on this evening, but nonetheless, i think all that heavier snow will stay well down to our south, eastern north carolina, or western north carolina, eastern tennessee, southwestern virginia. then by early-morning hours tomorrow, that storm raci

it appears to be worse south and west of d.c. quite a ways out.atures today, 59 degrees at reagan national airport. it is 46 now. our temperatures take us to george washington university, 45 degrees. earlier, 60 degrees. 58 for a high in alexandria. temperatures holding in the mid- 40's across the immediate metro. this is the storm system, the area of low pressure that is going to zip just to the south of us. it will remain far enough south that we will be on the northern edge of this. that is why our snow totals have been cut significantly for the immediate metro area. not even a winter weather advisories for us. that shows you how weak the system will be. if your travel plans to take you to southern west virginia or eastern kentucky, you might run into some problems. they could be looking at six to 10 inches of snow. we're going to look for temperatures to slowly rebound to 40. the clouds continue to increase, and by afternoon we are calling for some light snow showers. by about midnight tomorrow night, everything will be gone. here are the proj
