they will come out of the south, southwest most of the afternoon. but shift around to the northwest overnight tonight as that cold front comes through the area. temperature forecast, there is the milder air. that front the cold air begins to invade the chicago area. and it looks like this weekend we will see day time high temperatures just in the 50s and possibly some 30s chilly. there is a hot air continuing to build out in the western states. but we were thinking that maybe by the weekend the western states also may get a brief break from all of that intense heat they have experienced. there are some weather watches and warnings in effect. these are flood warnings on the east coast. a lot of heavy rain expected in that area. notice already rain coming down from virginia out through parts of new jersey. even maryland, north carolina, areas hard hit earlier this week with some very heavy rain and over the weekend that's associated with a frontal boundary. notice also florida picking up plenty of rain. more than six inches in brevard county. yesterda

in advance of that we start to see our winds turn around south-southwest.will bring the fog back on shore, a little cooler today, especially in the coastal areas, more extensive cooling as we progress. this system as it sets up by next saturday to produce just some sprinkles and showers north of san francisco. today still a beautiful fall-like day. late summer, early fall day. a few degrees cooler. a nice afternoon. readings in the 70s and 80s. sea breeze 10 to 20 mph and that will bring the fog and cloud cover more on shore and into coastal valleys tonight. and, again, setting up a cooler weather pattern for the week with a little bit of rain possible by next week. so we're just starting to get a little closer to the fall season. here's the fog you can see right along the coastline, that it does back off throughout the afternoon hours and we're forecasting a pretty day. south bay temperatures 1 or 2 degrees cooler. 82 our forecast high in san jose. santa clara 84. 84 cupertino. cool along the coast in pacifica. nice downtown san francisco but that sea bree
