an answer this afternoon on their grant request for the 264-million dollar pork plant project at southbridge industrial park. the council approved applying for a 4-point-6 million dollar grant through the "revitalize iowa's sound economy" program yesterday. the iowa d-o-t plans to discuss the request at a meeting at 1:30 this afternoon. city officials sound optimistic about the grant. "we've gotten good indication from the dot that they support the project," said sioux city economic development director, marty doughert. " the triumph seaboard project is going to bring a lot of traffic to the bridgeport area." the grant would pay for about 80 percent of the street work needed for the processing facility. interstate 29 drivers are shifting lanes in the sioux city construction zone. as of this morning, traffic in both directions has been moved to the southbound lanes from the floyd boulevard exit down across bacon creek. as part of this phase of the project the new southbound on-ramp to i-29 will also be opened up. << >> weather ad-lib high wind watch in effect for most of the area wednesday an
