the fair goes from 4 until 5:30 at the p-c-i medical southeast in cedar rapids. an alburnett couple is anxious to get answers from the state fire marshal's office today after a massive fire tore through their home. the fire happened around 12:45 saturday afternoon at the couple's home at 314 howard street. firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about a half hour. no people were hurt, but a pet died. kcrg tv9's jordee kalk explains why the couple believes this fire started in only gone about 15 minutes before their house started on fire. they tell me they don't smoke inside their home. and they weren't using any electronics or kitchen supplies when the fire broke out. so they say they're only answer is the fire started from a tv remote. take vo fireghters say a bulk of the damage is in the living room. but there's also damage to the home's roof and siding. homeowner troy riggs says he's working with investigators to determine the fire's cause. he says the only answer they have so far, is that the t-v remote started on fire when cushions. take sot
