progress on environmental cleanup in the areas of san francisco where that is a growing concern. >> you know, in san francisco, specifically in the southeast quadrant, san francisco is the industrial armpit. we have got the two major toxic sites, we have the shipyard and the lock site. both of those toxic chemicals that are still in the ground are from earlier activities, business activities. we also have the puc, the water treatment plant, in the district. for me, the quality of the environment is very important. it is a direct relationship with the high breast cancer rates, a cancer rates in particular, but also breast cancer, and to some degree childhood obesity, there's a correlation between the environment people are growing up in. when we talk about my legislative priorities, the environment is also on that list of priorities. minimizing asthma, maintaining the asman task force, that we will keep implementing that my predecessors started, educating people on healthy lifestyles, exercise, healthy diet. we talked about the environment. it is about the food we are taking into our body, our stress level, and a component that is not often

san francisco and ca. -- san francisco and t a -- san francisco mta. supervisor cohen: i just want to put on the record that i am frustrated. once again, southeaster neighborhoods are left off the table, no discussion, no consideration and i will not be voting for this. supervisor mar: i just pulled up the city car share map and it does seem that the southeast sector is willfully -- woefully misrepresented and park side has almost nothing. i also saying around park merced -- it is the southwest part of the city and my hope as you work with the supervisors to look at citywide -- at least in the richmond district, you have six or seven sites, but not in that outer richmond. my hope is by looking a pilot projects like this you can help figure out how to expand and raise the awareness in other areas of the city and not just central areas you currently are located late. i appreciate supervisor cohen's comments. my understanding is with the pilot program, four of them are in district 3 areas where there is clear demand and the others are chosen in areas where there is clear demand for city car share, but that is my understanding. pfft supervisor cohen:

everyone is caring -- everyone is considerate and compassionate about the people here in the southeast part of san francisco. and i especially would like to say thank you to assembly men tom ammiano. thank you so much for being here today. it's an honor to see you. i'm very excited and extremely optimistic about all of the wonderful things that c.y.c. is going to be -- programs they're going to be putting forward along the third street quarter as well as bay view. i have one request, i hope we will be able to get language classes here, just basic classes. i see some of my community leaders in here, i say walton and vivian. wouldn't it be to see jackson on the mic saying ni hao ma. i think that would be wonderful for members in the community to be welcoming and this is the world -- the world is becoming smaller as we listen to the news and how technology connected us, and it's our humanism and it's our human compassion that connects us. and i'm looking forward to the culture exchange we will have, vivian. i will be looking for you to hold some dance classes here. i hope to see you next year -- doing the lion

san francisco. look at livermore, only 79 today. same story in san jose. we had southeast winds pulling at the cool air from the south. very cool afternoon around the bay area. cool evening, at least seeing sun in san jose, different story from oakland to san francisco. 63 degrees in oakland and 60 in san francisco. again, what's really jumping out on this map is is the fact that livermore is 9 degrees right now at 6:00 on a mid-august evening. it's hard to believe, that's that ocean air conditioning blasting inland. it's good for wind power. you can see northwest winds at 17 miles per hour, and strong winds reaching into fairfield as well. we're going to see low clouds surging inland. which means areas of drizzle. i wouldn't rule out light rain around the coast and peninsula as you get an extra left to the cloud cover. afternoon sunshine tomrow and eventually warmer temperatures for inland valleys tuesday and wednesday. the low clouds obviously over san francisco and oakland. all day long hanging out in santa cruz. sunday looks to be the same, we're not going to see much

program emerged during the time of crisis in san francisco last year in 2010 when a series of attacks on seniors occurred at muni stations here in the southeast. chinese for affirmative action, along with our partners, including dr. joe marshall, sharon hewitt, marlene tram, others who came together to really address the concerns of residents. we stood together and demanded change. the city responded. you want to thank and lee, now mayor ed lee, and our supervisors for their big ship and support. many hours were spent collaborating. not only amongst advocates and service providers, but the residents themselves. every day we hear from residents the openly -- they openly expressed their struggles being limited in this profession and how difficult language is to services and knowing their rights. language access is critical, and we will continue to work to make the city as accessible to all residents. now it is time for our communities to heal. we know that when communities come together to work toward positive change, the more understanding results. as a city, we can not become complacent. it is through programs like the community ambassadors t
