they spend 8 months volunteering at parks in southeast san francisco.it's a really great program i know many of you commissioners are familiar with it but it's an important part of the rec and park department program. so the applications again are due on march 28, 2014. the applicants will be interviewed and the decisions by friday march 25. i can't building it's the third annual. next on my list commissioners is to let you know, we don't have enough agenda items for our march 8th meeting so it will be a blessing to cancel our regular meeting on april 8th and have our regular you meeting on april 24th. all right. next it's my pleasure to a briefly introduce our new chief building inspector. the former retired and we've been lucky enough to steal away neil friedman. he's had a trembling long career. neil can stand up and wave part of the evaporating any white he joined the city ♪ the 200 these he joined in the mayor's office of community development during the administration and provided cellular grant cooperation and moved over to the building inspector

nadine burke harris and katie albright came to us with a vision they knew the childrening in southeast san francisco were grouping without the resources they need to be safe. violence was a campaign occurrence in the homes of those on the streets and in poverty. there were 3 pediatricians serving kids in bayview and the 3 resources were spread out and hard to access for protecting famed. so when katie and a nadine came to us with their vision and i might add they're two of our top leaders in our protocol they put forth a plan to team up with c mc and create a one stop center for families. when they told us about that we were excited. at the tip bent 95 folks came together and raised money in one night to launch this initiative. those names have been scrolling but lisa with whom we couldn't have done this and membrane i didn't haas. so today, i'm proud to stand at the grand opening the center of this building under one roof we have 3 things happening pediatric services and bayview child center providing high that he hadic care of families regardless of their ability to pay they use an early understan

pathways, new overlook in the southeast corner, improved irrigation and eda access and yes the much celebrated and acclaimed p-pod. these are made thanks to san francisco voters who approved the 2008 clean and safe neighborhood bonds and $13.2 million is dedicated to dolores park. if you haven't been there, the fences are up and the construction is underway. so understand you can't eat in a kitchen you're renovating. be mindful we have a large construction project out there and while the south phase of the park remains open for now, we ask for people's extra patience and understandinging during the construction process. just a few quick personnel items and i'll conclude one is a sad note and i actually many going to read a brief letter from the park collaborative. dear commissioners, on february 17th, claron lost frank. he was a mac claron park stewart and we feel his loss. he was the public face for many years and president of thumb. in this position he attended public meetings. he was a champions and created funding for his park. he led nature hikes throughout the park. he liked bringing new people to discover mac claron park. he talked about his chi
